The Latest Information On Disinfecting Against COVID-19
Ever changing information regarding the spread of COVID-19 can be frustrating. As ongoing data is being continuously studied, new research continues to change recommended protocols. We are all aware of the conflicting information regarding how long the virus remains on surfaces, and how easily it spreads in the air. Over the past months, we were told that it remains on surfaces for weeks. Then that statement was pulled back, and was said not to remain on surfaces for long. Now, research is back to stating that COVID-19 can remain on surfaces for weeks.

All along, Care Labs, Inc. has been recommending the frequent disinfecting of common areas such a lobby desks and tables, door knobs / handles, and especially restroom surfaces, etc. Here's some basic information to know:

  • Frequently disinfect. Be sure to allow adequate contact time. Concentrated products like our Biocide Plus require a 10 minute contact time against COVID-19. A more preferred product may be our higher level disinfectant Care Spritz. It is ready-to-use and has a new EPA approved 60 second kill claim for COVID-19.

  • Disinfectant wipes and aerosols remain in very limited stock. We recommend using disposable paper towels when disinfecting. Do not reuse a cloth wipe in case of potential contamination.

  • Make restroom disinfecting and cleaning a high priority. We know that bathrooms are a critical area of concern for the spread of any sickness, and especially during these times in dealing with the coronavirus. Do not just use a typical bowl cleaner that has limited to no germicidal efficacy. Use Care Spritz as a high level disinfectant and cleaner; it has bowl cleaning instructions on the EPA approved label.

  • Reassure your customers. Let your customers know about all of the precautions you're taking to help reduce the virus spread. Include any additional cleaning measures or staffing adjustments, and reassure them that you're safe to do business with.

  • Stay stocked on cleaning products. With the minor exceptions of disinfecting wipes and aerosols, Care Labs, Inc. remains stocked on our two main disinfectant products, as well as other substitution products. We're ready for another spike in demand, but 2020 has been the year of uncertainty. Make sure your reordering points over the next few months keep you covered for longer than normal order processing.
