From the Executive Director Mary Brooks

As the air turns chilly and we turn our thoughts to the joys of the upcoming holiday season, the Board and staff of White Pony Express have joined together our minds and hearts in deep reflection on who we are, the impact we’ve been privileged to share with thousands of people, and what we must do to build a stable financial and organizational structure for our future.

It’s hard to remember that just a few short years ago we were a small start-up, an all-volunteer organization delivering less than 1,000 pounds of food per day in our personal cars. At our first Mobile Boutique we wondered if even 300 people would join us to receive beautiful clothing, toys and books!

Your financial support and encouragement over the last 6 years has helped provide the resources needed to mature into an organization that today delivers – with love - almost 7,000 pounds of fresh , nutritious food every day, including to 10 Contra Costa public schools where children and their families are hungry.

The Cold Weather Clothing program now delivers 10,000 items of life-saving clothing to our neighbors who live without shelter, and we give away 10,000 items of clothing, toys and books every month to people in need in almost every zip code of the county !

Further, White Pony Express supports 17 employees and their families with meaningful employment and manages a fleet of 10 large refrigerated trucks and two large distribution centers. Today’s White Pony Express is a mature, impactful organization woven into the fabric of life in our region.

Now, we must build a stronger foundation to insure that White Pony Express is sustainable for many years to come. This season, as you plan your year-end financial giving, consider the many ways you can directly impact thousands of people each day by making an especially generous donation to your White Pony Express. After all, a generous financial gift given with love really is

M2-One Honors White Pony Express
White Pony Express was honored by M2-One during the launch of the organization’s first women’s leadership workshop. M2-One’s mission is to engage women in leadership by building a community of women professionals and equipping them with the skills, perspective, and support they need on their journey towards senior-level positions.

Many children and their families rely on White Pony Express for fresh healthy food and clothing.

We distribute over 10,000 clothing items a month and an average of 7,000 pounds of food to community partners each and every day.

To meet that need, WPE requires year-round
financial support from people like you.
