From the Executive Director Mary Brooks
Greetings!

What better way to celebrate this warm season of abundance than to begin with a huge Thank You to all who helped make our Three Angel Match campaign such a success!

Through the support of matching funds from Luis Gerardo del Valle Torres Heart’s Path Foundation and the  David Gemmer Foundation and the generosity of all who joined our 2019 Circle of Giving, we were able to raise $680,450 in support of people in communities of need.

One of our creative volunteers put together this fun short video to show the faces of so many people who make this all possible. With a cash budget of $2.3 million and an in-kind goods budget of $6.2 million, this spring fundraising campaign gets us 25% to our annual funding need.
WPE crossed another exciting milestone last month, completing a 3-year Strategic Plan. The plan, approved by our Board of Directors, is the result of many months of thoughtful, creative hard work and research by our staff, leadership and volunteers. The goal of this planning work is to provide a solid foundational roadmap to the future, assuring the sustainability of White Pony Express as we continue to make the transition from start-up to mature nonprofit organization.

At a recent evening talk, one of our volunteers said to me,

" There are many ways to come into poverty.
You can be born into it, perhaps you had a catastrophic illness, or made some poor choices, were disabled
or you are simply getting older.
No matter the way, the suffering is the same."
Our Strategic Plan is the blueprint for how we dedicate ourselves to alleviating suffering. In the words of our founder, Dr. Carol Weyland Conner, "White Pony Express is dedicated to making sure no one suffers from want when there is a means to aid them."

Thank you to all who have joined our Circle of Giving. I invite you to read the Strategic plan, share it with your friends, neighbors and colleagues, and to feel free to email or call me if you have any questions or suggestions.

Warmest regards in the generous bounty of the summer season,

What do all those things have in common? On June 24th White Pony Express was honored to participate in the annual Starbucks Barista Challenge.

No, we don't know how to make the best latte, but we do know what makes a good partner.

Over 10,000 items we distributed, over 3,800 pounds of fresh nutritious food was given way, and over 150 volunteers came together to create another special pop-up community event.

SUSTAINABLE GIVING

Many children and their families rely on White Pony Express
for a very basic daily necessity that many of us
take for granted - fresh healthy food.
We distribute an average of 6,000 pounds of food
to community partners each and every day.

To meet that daily need, WPE requires year-round
financial support from people like you.
