My enthusiasm for Spring at the start of February might have been a little premature. The weather hasn't exactly been on our side this week, so instead of forcing yourself out the door (if you really can't face it) why not use the time to remind yourself how good running can make you feel.

Cosy up this weekend, don't feel guilty, and just plan for a run early next week. If you are in need of a little inspiration and motivation, I've put together a few articles which discuss our relationship with running - for the weekend that's in it.

For the love of running
Each year around this time I write about our love/hate relationship with our running shoes.

This is the latest installment : How to fall back in love with running. Or if you feel you need to change up your routine, here are 13 ways to make your running more fun.

And don't just take my word for it. Here are the voices of some of the runners I know and what they love about running : Love running, it won't let you down.

Also I was delighted to contribute recently to parkrun Ireland. We are all missing parkrun for sure, but as part of their parkrun resolution campaign, I shared the following tips on How to walk/run easier and remembering the basics

Do what you can

It can be hard to stay motivated in this weather, so be kind to yourself. If running is not right for you at the moment, don't put pressure on yourself to do it. Just do what you can. Walk where it is safe and comfortable to do so, and even a cuppa outdoors wrapped up in a hat and coat can lift your mood. Fresh air really helps.

Here are some articles I have written about how to run in covid times. They might help give you another perspective on these difficult months.

Two Year Anniversary

Finally, a little trip down memory lane. Next week will mark 2 full years since Get Running (Mary's book) had it's launch night. So grateful that we had the opportunity to meet in person on that evening. Here is a little reminder of that big day. Thank you to you all who have bought Get Running and continue to reference it.
