Garden joys...

Dear friends,

Welcome to my "PHOTOBLOG" Newsletter, a monthly publication which is being sent to clients and friends, to keep them updated on my current photographic interests, new works and future developments.

My goal is to format the Newsletter around a short series of images, which I will try to describe briefly, so that important or interesting details will be easily available to the viewer.

Most of the imagery displayed here will also be on view at " IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery, located at 14406 Detroit Avenue in beautiful Downtown Lakewood, and I would be happy to extend to all an invitation to stop by sometime for a visit.

As always, I will appreciate your comments and suggestions pertaining to my work, and , should you enjoy these images, please feel free to share the"PHOTOBLOG" with friends  and others as well; anyone interested in my work could be easily added to my distribution list by contacting me at  mellino1974@sbcglobal.net

or   by visiting at  www.mellinophotography.com.

This September "PHOTOBLOG" is taking us to visit a number of gardens I have enjoyed over the years. Some are very elegant, classical environments created by greatly skilled landscape professionals; others are much simpler, natural sites which have however captured my eye because of their soothing, but at times explosive beauty...always "Nature" at its best is the common denominator of all these images.
I hope you will come along with me in this visual "wandering" and get as much joy as I often get from seeing again these places. Photographing "Nature" is one of my favorites, and if you have a garden or a special place around your home you wish to "capture" on camera, please let me know and I would be happy to create some enchanting imagery for you to proudly show off and display!
A rustic chair seen at an Amish farm, surrounded by vibrant, summer colours... then an elegant water fall created within an exclusive lakefront Cleveland estate, with an abundance of plants and greenery very artistically displayed throughout.
Finally, a simple backyard corner, the perfect spot for a moment of relaxation and refuge from it all...

One of the most amazing gardens welcomes the visitor to the Villa Lante della Rovere located in Bagnaia, near Viterbo. The gardens were built between the 16th and the 17th centuries with a classical English pattern, highly desirable around Europe in those days. The statuary, the water falls and the intricate paths around its grounds make this a really unique place, well worth the visit!

Two small gardens outside of front doors: with the right touch, even the smallest area could lend itself to some wonderful creativity...

An elegant West side estate with an incredible Downtown Cleveland view and with spectacular gardens perfectly manicured and constantly updated. This is the perfect place where to hide for a while and contemplate the surroundings in no hurry, for the good of your mind and spirit!
The old semi-open gate lands a romantic touch to this private West Side garden, filled with warm colours and comfortable whicker chairs, with a rustic stone bench in the background.

A water garden in Florida, with lilies and other tropical flowers...

A rustic, very simple country garden seen outside a small community in Florida; below, a patch of dahlias outside the entrance of a Downtown building, just enough to bring a little color and warmth to a site with otherwise little interest.

"LENSWORKS", the annual Summer event, remains on view at IMAGES Art Gallery until the end of September...stop by to take a look before it's gone! Some of these pieces, along with other botanical and nature images will be featured in an upcoming exhibit I was invited to present at the Cleveland Botanical Garden Guren Art Gallery, in University Circle. This "solo" exhibit will open October 4th and run until the first week of November.

"Floral Portraits" on view at the Center for Artful Living ( 26633 Detroit Rd, Westlake) will be on view until the 14th of September, with a closing reception scheduled on the 14th, 6 to 8pm...all are invited and welcome!

Finally, all Clifton Park/Lagoons residents and Clifton Club members are invited to the first Clifton Beach Art Fair, to be held on Saturday, September 22nd at the Beach House ( 12 to 5pm). All exhibiting artists are Park/Lagoons residents or Club members, and a great variety of artworks will be on display, along with light appetizers, drinks and a delightful musical performance by Priscilla Eva and her Trio...you will not want to miss this great event by the beach!

As our Summer comes slowly to an end, I sincerely hope that all of us did find enough time to enjoy the beauty and the amazing realities in our lives...and most importantly the people most important to us.

See you around...Marcello.
