Expressions of Imagination.

Dear friends,

Welcome to my "PHOTOBLOG" Newsletter, a monthly publication which is being sent to clients and friends, to keep them updated on my current photographic interests, new works and future developments.

My goal is to format the Newsletter around a short series of images, which I will try to describe briefly, so that important or interesting details will be easily available to the viewer.

Most of the imagery displayed here will also be on view at " IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery, located at 14406 Detroit Avenue in beautiful Downtown Lakewood, and I would be happy to extend to all an invitation to stop by sometime for a visit.

As always, I will appreciate your comments and suggestions pertaining to my work, and, should you enjoy these images, please feel free to share the"PHOTOBLOG" with friends and others as well; anyone interested in my work could be easily added to my distribution list by contacting me at

or   by visiting at

This month  "PHOTOBLOG" Newsletter contains a collection of images totally  "unconnected", if not for the fact that they were all chosen because of their intrinsic meaning ( to me..., at least!) reflective of an idea, an imagined reality, a forgotten truth.
Photography as we know is mostly a concrete reproduction of a given moment in time, however the use of certain techniques, the available light and the choices of colors or their refusal can ultimately create a different story, seen or imagined.
This Kiddie Park, seen a while ago as I was visiting a small seaside Italian town, has always fascinated me, with its too brilliant, happy colors yet with the sad solitude emanating from a moment empty of children and all humanity, perhaps because of the inclement weather, or the time, or....who knows! It reminds me of a Fellini moment, almost absurd, yet real and tangible. Let's hope it is still running, giving some joy to those bambini!

Across Tower City, where the Hard Rock Cafe' once stood, with that iconic guitar strangely surrounded by a prominent cyclone fence, almost as to keep what many would consider a symbol of Cleveland drastically segregated from its pulse.
The "red barn" never fails to capture my attention, at any season:here I purposely kept the image mostly out of focus in order to add a sense of mistery...
 Expressions of Imagination.
A lonely person alone by the water, as the Lake begins to thaw: anything could be on his/her mind on this early, warm Spring day. Is this a happy moment, or one of sad recollection of things that were?
" Sand castles" on a Florida beach: the perfect contrast of images captures so well the meaning of the moment!
Expressions of Imagination.
The early morning light coming through a slightly open window of an old industrial building: what's out there to see?
Someone may be living in that apartment, I always thought, as the red drapes are gently moved by the summer breeze...
Expressions of Imagination.

On a car trip out East: always wonderful to look at things as they quickly disappear!

Wandering on the East Side of town, catching some intriguing modern architecture...

A distant NYC seen through the large window of Ellis Island Great Hall: the same vantage point shared by millions of exhausted, hungry immigrants a Century ago as they awaited for their destiny to be fulfilled in their new home.
A rainy Venice seen through an approaching vaporetto...
An empty table at some diner: can't remember how it was, but the light was great for me!

A graffiti covered train going by, with somone's bike left by the curbe under gigantic street ads with some crazy messages, and strangely with no people around: as life in Italy goes by, this "frozen" moment brings the essence of it really out.

Above, an unusual view of the Flats and Tremont from the Lorain- Carnegie Bridge.

I could not miss the chance to display the amazing mosaic titled "IMAGINE", honoring John Lennon and located in "Strawberry Fields" near Central Park in NYC, since this image is certainly the perfect closing for this month Photoblog!

"Passeggiate" in Italia is now on view at IMAGES Art Gallery: the exhibit features a series of "street" photographs from both famous and little known Italian cities and villages, an interesting reflection on its culture and the many aspects of every day life...stop by for a visit soon!

Hope you are all getting ready for the many wonderful activities just around the corner, now that finally Spring and soon Summer are upon, stay busy, always keep looking around at the beauty and the fascination of the surrounding world, and... have fun!
