July 2019

Dear friends,

Welcome to my "PHOTOBLOG" Newsletter, a monthly publication which is being sent to clients and friends, to keep them updated on my current photographic interests, new works and future developments.

My goal is to format the Newsletter around a short series of images, which I will try to describe briefly, so that important or interesting details will be easily available to the viewer.

Most of the imagery displayed here will also be on view at       " IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery,  located at 14406 Detroit Ave., in Lakewood, and I would be happy to extend to all an invitation to stop by sometime for a visit.

As always, I will appreciate your comments and suggestions pertaining to my work, and , should you enjoy these images, please feel free to share the "PHOTOBLOG" with friends  and others as well; anyone interested in my work could be easily added to my distribution list by contacting me at

or by visiting at

Summer of 2019 is finally upon us, although a bit too wet it's time to come back to Cleveland this month!
Here is a series of new images of our City, some of which are currently on view at the Clark Gallery by the Blackbird Bakery in Lakewood. This month Cleveland celebrates the 50th anniversary of her "Come back" story from the infamous 1969 River fire on June 22nd...but so much good has happened since then! The Cuyahoga has gained so much life and vitality, with lots of "pleasure" traffic besides its customary commercial activity; people from around the Country and the rest of the world are now travelling to North-East Ohio to enjoy our many cultural, culinary and sport events, with Downtown and surrounding communities witnessing an unprecedented renaissance of many iconic buildings as well as welcoming new construction. Living and working in the City has become a reality for many, with new restaurants and shops opening their doors to the regulars and the tourist crowd; outdoors activities are so many and so accessible, and our cultural life continues to expand.
So, let's celebrate and enjoy our surroundings! We all must be proud of Cleveland, the City I have called "home" for decades and the one I am always excited to re-discover with my lens...enjoy the tour!
A busy evening street scene, on Euclid early morning view of the Downtown skyline from Edgewater Park, where one of the six "CLEVELAND" signs are located, and finally a look at the City from across the River as the Nautica Queen is getting ready for an other summer cruise on the Lake...what's not to like, right?
Above, the giant Play House Chandelier on Euclid Avenue.
The view of the City Center at night as seen from outside the Rock &Roll Hall of Fame;street art seen on an old Prospect building entrance as it was been renovated a couple of years ago, which I suspect is no longer there.
Downtown as seen from Tremont, with lots of industrial activity in the forefront around the Cuyahoga River, along with a daytime image of the bridges and the traffic into the Flats taken from the "Bob Hope" Bridge.

About ...Cleveland!

The day is almost here... the "All-Star Game" is coming home in a couple of weeks, once again showcasing Cleveland to the Country and the ball, guys!!

Jim Thome Statue was unveiled on August 3th, 2014 in the Heritage Plaza by First Energy Stadium: Jim was a class act and a tremendous baseball player, always a favorite around here, and he surely deserve the honor!

Interesting street art on a West 25th building, as more of this is being encouraged and supported financially you drive around, there is a lot to discover these days!
Above, a gorgeous marble staircase within the Old Courthouse on Lakeside, and the new Justice Center photographed from below the Detroit Bridge, through where street cars once travelled to Public Square from the West Side.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame entrance as seen through the new bright red sign recently installed in front of it: this is the destination for a lot of national and international tourists coming to CLE.

Above, Fall colours along the River and some of the old Flats bridges.

The Cleveland skyline seen at night from the Old Viaduct Bridge, and one of the "Guardians" looking over the Terminal Tower and the City Center.

I hope you have enjoyed these images as much as I have in creating them...and if you did and are a proud "Clevelander", please share them with friends and family around the Country to boost the image and the reputation of our beloved Cleveland! You should know that you are part of several hundred viewers all over the US and Europe receiving and, hopefully, appreciating my monthly Photoblog, all of whom I thank deeply for their support and interest in my work.

If you ever stop by at the Blackbird Baking Co. in  Lakewood to try some of their cappuccino and cookies, you can still catch " About...Cleveland!", an exhibit of my CLE. images along with some vintage photography I have acquired, on view for few more days.

Still on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery in Downtown Lakewood " Passeggiate in Italia", a series of images from known and lesser known Italian towns and villages which will bring you back to a " different " life style, yet filled with pleasant and interesting realities.

Please take the time to visit on the web at,

and feel free to send me your feedback and opinions, as they are always appreciated.

To all, my personal wishes for a very happy and healthy 4th of July celebration, keeping in mind our good fortune and our blessings!

Best, Marcello.
