Holy Spirit Bridge Group

At long last, after a 2 ½ year hiatus, the Holy Spirit Bridge Group will once again resume activities this Fall. Play will begin, starting on September 28th and continuing through May of next year, except for December. We will play on the last Wednesday of the month in the Parish Hall from 9:00am - 12:30pm.

We are looking for couples to play as partners regularly every month, or if you prefer, joining up as a single and be put on the sub-list. The skill level of this group is average, so please do not be intimidated into thinking you won’t play well enough.

If you are interested in joining us once a month for a congenial social gathering of friendly Bridge play, please contact Dick or Sue Castro by phone at (408) 927-9391 or email at rwcastro@pacbell.net
 Prayer Shawl Ministry

Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every prayer shawl.

The shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way.

Shawls can be used for: undergoing medical procedures; comfort after a loss and bereavement; during times of stress; prayer or meditation; birthing, nursing a baby; bridal shower or wedding gift; during an illness and recovery; ministering to others.

Are You Someone OR do You Know Someone Who...

Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic? Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized? Is someone who has been baptized Catholic but has not received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist? Holy Spirit is offering an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our Catholic faith.

Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. We invite you to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. For information, please contact Jane Thompson at 408-997-5121 or email jane.thompson@dsj.org.
