"As you learn to see the fullness of God’s life and power in others, you will know that you need not pour out your own for them. You will have the knowledge and light to call their attention to what they have and to prompt them to use it.”

Martin Luther King Jr. said, we cannot destroy with hate. By returning hate with hate, hate multiplies.
So, love is the only thing that can cancel out hate.
Martin Luther King believed that in order to change the system, one needed to live from a humble and loving spirit.
In Unity, we believe that we can indeed live from love, a Christ consciousness exemplified by Jesus.

A Seminary to Support Urban Ministry
|
“Urban does not mean poor and Black,” wrote Rev. Prentiss Davis (Class of 2003) in an essay titled The Urban Experience.
“It is an environment that is not limited to any race, age, gender, or locale. It is based on error thought messages of lack, limitation, and separation from God that leads to a consciousness of defeat.”
Rev. Sandra Campbell shares important history of the Unity Urban Ministerial School.

|
Now we bring to our awareness the power of love as the root of all prayer practices with Prayer: Love is My Religion.
We have learned about the power of prayer; how to place ourselves in the cosmos between a mountain and an ant- and be willing to be moved; we have released the tendency to use prayer as a tool of negotiation, gained understanding of how our prayers are not limited to by time/space; we’ve learned how to pray with each other rather than for each other.
Rev. Jacquie concludes our five-week series on prayer.
The love-powered Millie Edwards joins the UCOP Trio to bless us with music.

We activate our collective faith through the following affirmations for those who have requested prayer.
We need not know the physical manifestation that inspired the request. We see beyond that to the Truth of the Divine Identity of each person.
Feel free to send card with encouragement or personal prayer to those who have provided addresses.

For Celebration:
I live life joyously and celebrate with a grateful heart!
|
|
We have several exciting happenings to celebrate this month:
-
A recent fun-filled afternoon participating in the HamBINGO fundraiser at Hamburger Mary’s, where wonderful connections were made with the greater KC community and generosity in many forms was in full display;
-
Congregants signing up to enter the Membership Orientation and become members of UCOP this month;
-
The Unity Worldwide Ministries (UWM) Annual Summit meetings where programs and proposals were offered, including “Better Together,” a collaborative effort between UWM and Unity World Headquarters that focuses on the strengths and services of each organization; a redesigned educational program and online platform; and a proposal clarifying levels of membership available within UWM.
Much more is on the horizon, and we’ll continue adding to the celebrations in the weeks ahead!

For Healing and Guidance:
One in spirit with all, I acknowledge that wholeness of body, mind, and spirit are my divine Truth as an expression of God’s perfection on earth. I release any thoughts to the contrary.

For Gratitude:
I participate in the circulation of blessings by living generously and knowing I will receive in abundance.
|
|
This month we offer our gratitude and appreciation to our Audio/Visual team. They manage equipment set-up/tear-down each week, and operate screens, sound, lighting, and live-streaming of our celebration services and events.
We are so grateful for the many talents and skills they share that make UCOP look and sound really good!
|
|
For Comfort:
We know that the Peace, Grace, and Love of God enfolds those moving forward in their eternal journey of Life.
|
|
For anyone who may be moving through a time of loss, we affirm for you that you are never alone and that you feel the love and comfort of Spirit filling your heart more and more with each passing day.
|
|
For Peace:
We know that Divine peace is our path and our true nature.
|
|
At the center of my being, there is a still point of peace.
It is a sacred space where the Christ resides.
This peace melts away tension and releases any conflict.
It reminds me that God is here, everywhere, and all is well. In this moment, I choose peace. I express peace in my life and become an ambassador of peace in my world.
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you." ~ John:14-27
