| | In celebration of Abandoned Pet Rescue's 30th Anniversary, Voyage MIA featured Linda Halverson, a Wilton Manors, FL resident, who has been the heart and soul of APR for 22 years! Linda has excelled in every shelter role, from cleaning cat rooms to managing Fort Lauderdale's only no-kill animal shelter. She is currently our Clinic Coordinator, ensuring all shelter animals receive the medical care they need. Thank you, Voyage MIA, for spotlighting Linda and her incredible life-saving work. | | |
“It has been wonderful to see the positive changes that have helped the organization grow. Over the years, my husband Hal and I have adopted 17 cats and dogs, plus fostered many more. My son, daughter, mother, sisters, nieces, and nephew have also adopted pets from APR. My family has volunteered together to prepare food for numerous APR adoption and fundraising events. APR has been a huge part of my life – the cats and dogs mean so much to me. I love the no-kill mission of the shelter and being able to help match the pets to the perfect homes.”

Emelia is a playful, 3-year-old, 50-pound Staffordshire Terrier with a big, silly personality. She loves rope toys, zooming around, and would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard. Treat-motivated and eager to learn, training is fun with her. She’s goofy, always ready to make you laugh, and after playtime, she’s a snuggle bug with the loudest (and cutest) snore.
Emelia is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and ready for adoption!
