| It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our team member, Mike Maloney, on September 1st, 2025. Mike’s dedication to the animals of Abandoned Pet Rescue was unmatched, from arriving early to give dogs extra playtime to tackling countless maintenance tasks with a smile. | Long before joining our staff, he volunteered as a dog walker, later adopting Max, a Golden Retriever he adored. Mike also fostered several APR pups, offering them comfort and care. His compassion, humor and hard work left a lasting mark on all who knew him. | A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 5–7 pm at the APR Art Studio/Blanco y Blanco Art Gallery (1147 NE 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304). | For those who knew Mike, we invite you to join us in honoring his memory. This 2-year-old, 43 lb hound/terrier mix is the perfect mix of lap dog and adventure buddy. She loves playing fetch with tennis balls, splashing in her pool, and chasing the hose, but is just as happy curled up for cuddles and kisses. One of her quirks? She rolls her tennis ball along the wall for back scratches! Mistletoe is sweet, funny, treat-motivated and would love to have a human of her own who has always has her back. She’s ready to shower her forever human with endless hugs and love.

Bark at the Park
We had a blast at Bark at the Park with the Miami Marlins on Sunday! We loved meeting all the baseball fans. Extra thank you to the City of Pompano Beach employees and Wynwood Dog Food team members for coming out to catch a great ballgame while supporting our no-kill animal shelter!
We are grateful to Kaiona Communications for leading this fun event with the Marlins!
