On my mind today...

Several recent clients with reproductive health issues; infertility, PCOS, etc. What to do?

People still being given the absolutely wrong dietary advice for their health issues, and the FDA coming out late September with labeling recommendations supporting the corporate food industries rather than health. I'll talk about this at the end if we have time!

GH3 - update on my access to that (think I've got it!), how you can just order yourself, and why GH3 is such a Wondrous formula.

Reproductive/Hormonal Health Issues

Case #1 from this week PCOS - recommendations:

IN THE MORNING WITH OR W/O FOOD:

TRI-IODINE 6.25 MG – start with 1 capsule every other day for two weeks, then 1 capsule daily.

S-ACETYL-L-GLUTATHIONE 300 MG – 1 capsule

THORNE BASIC NUTRIENTS 2/DAY – 2 capsules

AFTER SUPPER/BEFORE BED:

            OVABOOST – 4 capsules

OTHER:

EVE’S PROGESTERONE CREAM – apply 1 pump daily – see below – (approximately ¼ tsp/25 mg). Start this the day you receive it in the mail, and we will assume it is Day #14 of your cycle. Continue every day until Day #28, then stop. If you get a period, let me know, and that would be considered Day #1 of the next cycle, and you would begin to use it again Day #14. IF you do not get a period, and do not be disappointed if you do not, as this could take a few cycles, then consider the last day you used it as Day #1 and start again on Day #14.

Natural progesterone in a moisturizing cream can be applied to the face, neck, inner arms, chest, breasts, hands or soles of the feet. The cream is readily absorbed and leaves no trace after a few minutes. During absorption the cream by-passes the liver and goes to specific receptor sites where progesterone is needed. The important thing is to alternate application sites, so don’t use the same place every day; mix it up. Otherwise, it can just get hung up in fat and not get where it is supposed to go.

IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK: We received the package yesterday, thank you. She took 4 Ovaboost and used the Progesterone cream last night, AND.... got her period this morning!!! After not having it for a few months! Wow!!!

PURE ENCAPSULATIONS MICRONIZED DHEA 25 MG – 1 capsule

IN THE EVENING/BEFORE BED/WHENEVER CONVENIENT:

OVABOOST – 4 capsules

"The Players"

Glutathione

Glutathione is important for both male and female fertility. It can improve sperm health and quality. When it comes to the women’s ovaries, glutathione has an important role to play. Our eggs develop slowly and gradually in a process known as folliculogenesis over a period of many months before ovulation occurs. During this process, the many cells surrounding the egg, known collectively as the follicle, replicate. Each one of these tiny cells requires glutathione to shield it from damage. As such, the egg quality is dependent on glutathione – one of the ovary’s main protectors. In fact, research has shown that oocytes with higher levels of intracellular glutathione produce healthier, stronger embryos. Other research has shown that in our younger years, women’s ovaries actually have higher intracellular glutathione levels. As such, increasing our glutathione can potentially turn back the ovarian “clock”. Research has shown that glutathione deficiency is related to premature ovarian aging and even ovarian cancer. Another study found that for women undergoing IVF, higher levels of glutathione in a woman’s follicles translated into increased fertilization rates.

OvaBoost

OvaBoost has a unique formulation highlighted by a trio of ingredients – myo-inositol, folic acid (also called folate), and melatonin – that are popular for reproductive health. In addition, OvaBoost includes Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), which is an antioxidant. But, CoQ10 also plays an important role in energy production within egg cells. Once conception occurs, the amount of cell division that occurs to allow the egg to grown into an embryo and successfully implant into the wall of the uterus requires a tremendous amount of energy. CoQ10 works within the mitochondria (the energy powerhouse of the cell) of the egg cell to help ensure that energy production is optimal. Finally, OvaBoost contains three additional antioxidant ingredients, Vitamin E, grapeseed extract and alpha lipoic acid, to help ensure your egg cells are adequately protected from the damaging effects of free radicals.

PROGESTERONE

What Does Progesterone Do?

  • Progesterone maintains the lining of the uterus which makes it possible for a fertilized egg to attach and survive
  • Allows the embryo to survive
  • Prevents immune rejection of the developing baby
  • Allows for full development of the fetus through pregnancy
  • Helps the body use fat for energy during pregnancy
  • Increases libido around ovulation
  • Activates osteoblasts to increase new bone formation
  • Protects against endometrial, breast, ovarian and prostate cancer

DHEA

The naturally occurring hormone DHEA or Dehydroepiandrosterone is primarily produced in the body by the adrenal gland. Over the years, interest has grown in this hormone regarding infertility management. The use of DHEA for fertility management is fairly new and is often reserved for helping women suffering from a poor ovarian response (POR) and diminished ovarian response (DOR)
