Across every age and culture, humanity has bowed to the feminine face of the divine, in ancient river goddesses, cave paintings of prehistoric mothers, in the many names by which the sacred feminine has been called and cherished. Much of the world has since moved away from that reverence. The turbulent times we now find ourselves in are an invitation to return to that worship, to turn within and invoke the powerful energy of the Divine Feminine once more.
Navratri is a nine-night tradition, rooted in ancient Indian culture, honoring the feminine energy in its many forms. This year, we are celebrating it by welcoming the Founder of Full Bloomed Lotus and Guest Teacher Ramaa Krishnan to Evolution on Monday, 10/12. Ramaa is bringing a Navratri celebration across our local neighborhoods, moving from studio to studio, using the framework of the chakra system, to honor each day of Navratri.
Evolution is hosting the very first night, honoring the energy of the Root Chakra and Goddess Annapoorna. The evening will begin with a short reflection and meditation tuned to that day's energy, led by Ramaa, followed by an all-levels yoga practice, led by Studio Owner Erin Ipjian, designed to help us embody this expression of Divine Feminine energy. We will honor the Goddess of nourishment in the form of food and sustenance, as we explore the root chakra, our center of having and holding. In this special event, we will focus on connecting with the energy of abundance and generosity, to have and to hold without attachment. We would love for you to join us at this very special event.
