About Reliant Tom

Reliant Tom is not just a band; it's an artistic partnership born from the serendipitous meeting of songwriter and dancer Claire Cuny and producer and sound artist Monte Weber in the heart of Brooklyn. Their story began in 2015 at a mesmerizing dance theatre performance, where the magic of music, dance, and art collided. Claire, a talented dancer involved in various city projects, and Monte, a music theory and composition scholar at NYU, immediately connected.
What makes Reliant Tom's music truly exceptional is the fusion of their vastly different musical backgrounds and their shared passion for exploration and experimentation. Each album and project they embark upon is an opportunity to push the boundaries of sound and creativity. From the industrial art rock noise of "Bad Orange" (2018) to the dark introspection of "Play & Rewind" (2020) and their latest 90s alt-inspired single "When We Were Young" (2021), their sonic tapestry knows no bounds.
