Gentle Yoga with Patti!

June Letter from Diana

Stay you course! 

It is finally warm and nice outside! Yay! It’s been a long time coming and I hope you all are enjoying the weather and all the fun it brings. Along with the fun, I also hope you are staying your course for your health and wellness. The very large specials we are offering for the first 5 days of June will hopefully help you stay motivated to keep your health as a priority…you only get one body to live this journey in and every month of every year it needs care.  

It is way too easy to say, “It’s only nice for a small while in the summer.” I have seen so many folks in 31 years of my profession have regrets for letting their health go and then having even bigger obstacles down the road to address. Stay your course this summer…and make it a commitment for life. 

Some tips to help: 
* Focus on short-term plans. What is the plan for this week? Just take 1 week at a time. 
* Work with a Health Coach. There’s a reason that even the US Medical Board has a credentialed test for certification for Health Coaches now. It’s that successful and I encourage you to give it a try. 
* Start cooking and eating only whole foods. 
* Try an app that helps you track. This can help many folks become more aware of what they are and are not doing. It’s a technical way to journal. 
* Come to classes with a friend. Once you come to essence, we look for you! It helps to know folks are expecting you and mossing you if you’re not here. 
* Try new classes or try working with a trainer. The most successful health and wellness programs have always been 1-on-1 with a trainer or coach. 

You can do this…and you are worth it! Envision what it will be like once you have stayed your course for 1, 2, 3, or even 12 months in a row? You will have an amazing sense of relief and energy and a way of living in your body that will feel joyful!

Silent retreats provide space for participants to experience the powerful impact of having an extended time and space to restore. Past participants are so amazed at the power of this retreat and many have attended more than one! The foods are wholesome and delicious (vegan/gluten-free), the grounds are stunning and so calming, and the guided meditations and practices will restore and relax you. Diana shares many techniques for finding balance, and her private energy sessions are powerful for those that choose to add them on.

Trauma-Informed Teacher Training Level I
Diana is beginning the next Trauma TT Level I Tuesday evenings (every other) at the end of June going through August. They will be 6:30-8:30pm and we will be covering all in 7 evenings. She will be doing these via zoom except the last one which will be in-studio to do our practice teaching with each other. They will be recorded and can be watched afterward; however, one should not plan on doing that each session.

Mask/COVID Guidelines UPDATED 3-1-22
Mask/COVID Guidelines Effective March 1, 2022
Due to the significant decrease in the COVID virus severity, numbers of cases, hospitalizations and with the changes just noted by the CDC and state, we are not mandating masks at the studio any longer unless you would like to wear one. We ask that you do not come into the studio sick with or without medications you may have taken or if you have been with folks who are sick. We may need to reinstate masks in the future if the COVID situation changes and will notify all if we do.
We will continue to clean diligently and use our UV lights between classes along with our hepa filters with UV lights.
We recommend a K-N95 or N95 mask for your protection if you feel the need to wear one. If you are working with a trainer for a private session and would feel more comfortable with the trainer wearing a mask, they for sure will. Just let them know.

Important Zoom Class Reminders: 

  • For those participating via zoom, you must be visible on camera. We can not allow participants coming on with us without a camera option going forward for safety reasons.
  • Be signed up at least 2 hours before the class begins
  • Zoom link will be sent about 1 hour before class begins to your email 
  • Be signed in 15 minutes before class 
  • Ask all in your home to be off the internet for best reception for Zoom classes 
  • You will be on mute during Zoom classes and can send a chat message to the instructor if needed. 
  • For yoga classes, please leave savasana at the beginning or stay on the entire time to avoid being disruptive to the class.

Please consider keeping valuables and things you do not need in your trunk or at home when coming to the studio. Due to space and safety concerns, we cannot have extra belongings in the rooms while classes are going on. Although we take pride in our amazing community and studio, Essence is not responsible for lost or stolen items, and we are hoping to help you prevent any issues while also keeping the studio safe and spacious for everyone.

No recordings, photos, or copying of classes, workshops, or private sessions without written permission from the owner. Please leave all cellular devices on silent/off and in your bag during sessions/classes.

In order to make the space comfortable for everyone, please refrain from wearing colognes or perfumes to class.
