Kings Finance Update - Property Taxes
October is National Principals Month! We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our Kings Principals and Assistant Principals for their dedication and commitment to our students!
Principals and assistant principals are important leaders within our school who set the tone for school spirit, academic performance, teacher and staff support, and parent and family engagement.
Often principals and assistant principals are the least recognized in the profession. We want to honor and recognize Doug Leist - KHS Principal; Jeff Miller - KHS Asst. Principal; Taylor Rose - KHS Asst. Principal; Eric Dunn - KJH Principal; Caleb Keeton - KJH Asst. Principal; Shelley Detmer-Bogaert - CIS Principal; Lori Stovall - CIS Asst. Principal; Cheryl Montag - JFB Principal; Jenny Wilson - JFB Asst. Principal; Shawn Rosekrans - KME Principal; Belinda Atkins - SLE Principal; and Mary Beth Fosse - Kings Early Childhood Center Principal.
Thank you for your hard work and for all you do for students, staff, and our community!

JFB & SLE Candy Collection for the Troops
|
It's that time of year again to begin preparing care packages for our Troops.
Thirteen years ago, J.F. Burns started the tradition of collecting Halloween candy to send to the Troops overseas. South Lebanon Elementary will join them in their efforts again this year.
The candy drive will begin on Wednesday, November 1, and run through Friday, November 10. Candy (and monetary) donations can be brought to either JFB, SLE, Mac's Pizza Pub Landen, and the City of South Lebanon Ohio Administrative Building.
All types of candy and snacks (including chocolate) will be accepted. If possible, please send the candy in a zip-lock baggie. We will also gladly accept donations of quart-size zip-lock baggies! (These baggies are used to pack the candy to send to the troops.)
Monetary donations are accepted to help cover the cost of shipping. You may send in a check made payable to "The Yellow Ribbon Support Center” or make donations via Venmo or PayPal through www.YRSC.org. All donations are tax-deductible.
Please feel free to have your kids write letters, draw pictures, etc., and drop them off. These will be included with the candy.
If you have a loved one deployed, please email Keith Maupin at K_Maupin@yahoo.com or you may send a private message to the Yellow Ribbon Support Center via their Facebook page. All candy is sent via the Yellow Ribbon Support Center!
Questions should be directed to Hope Cantrall at hope.cantrall@yrsc.org.

Kings Theatre Presents - "The Green Light"
You don't want to miss the World Premiere of the play, The Green Light!
This play was written by Kings High School graduates Alexandra Taylor and Kira Doebereiner who both participated in the Arts while at KHS.
They found that there aren't a lot of plays that are written specifically for high school students so they decided to put their heads together to create The Green Light. Both Alex and Kira have been fully immersed in the production by helping with casting, read-throughs, character workshops, and rehearsals.
The story...
Frenchie Fitzgerald has disappeared from Gilden Academy...right before announcing the winner of the Green Light Scholarship sponsored by her wealthy family. Aspiring student-journalist Aoife Desmond resolves to solve the case, but who knows what really happened? One of the scholarship applicants? Frenchie's boyfriend? Aoife joins forces with Fenchie's roommate and childhood friend, Jess Clark. Together, they try to unravel past scandals and navigate through current ones to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Alex and Kira hope to be able to publish the play for other high schools to use in their repertoire in the future. You can learn more about The Green Light and its characters on the play's Facebook and Instagram pages.
Showtimes are November 16-18 at 7:00 p.m. and a matinee at 2:00 p.m. on 11/18. Tickets are on sale now at kingstheatre.net. Don't miss this production!!

As the fall season is coming to a close for many teams there are some really exciting tournament events taking place the next two days.
The Kings Knights Football Team will travel to Loveland tonight for the first round of playoffs. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. Both Kings and Loveland are 5-5 on the season. Be sure not to miss the rematch from earlier this season. If the Knights were to win they likely play at Anderson next Friday.
Our Lady Knight Volleyball Team is in the midst of the best season in Kings history. They are currently 23-1 and will be competing in the District Championships on Saturday, October 28 against Springboro at 2:00 p.m. at Lakota East HS. This would be Kings first D1 Volleyball District Championship in school history. Let’s pack their gym. It’s going to be a “Red Out” for the Kings fans! If the Lady Knights win, they will play in the Regional Semi-Finals on Wednesday, November 1 at 6:00 p.m. against the winner of Ursuline and Mt Notre Dame, location TBA.
The Kings Cross Country team has three individuals competing in the Regional Championships on Saturday, October 28 at Troy HS. Good luck to our qualifiers, Lucy Marketos who will run at 2:00 p.m., and, Sam Thomas and Robert Giller will run at 2:45 p.m. for a chance to qualify for the OHSAA State Championships.
*If you are attending an OHSAA tournament game we highly recommend buying tickets prior to the game since they are cheaper online than paying cash at the gate. Visit ohsaa.org/tickets.
