Kings Facility Master Planning Update

This past Tuesday marked an important milestone in the Kings Local Schools Master Facilities Planning process. After months of diligent work, two participants from the Community Advisory Team presented the final recommended Master Plan to the Board of Education during the work session.

The comprehensive recommendation provides a blueprint for facilities upgrades across the district to address current and future enrollment. Priority projects include a new 9-12 High School campus, additions at Columbia Intermediate, and key infrastructure improvements throughout the district.

Community volunteers, parents, staff, and students have provided input throughout this extensive planning process to ensure the recommended projects align with the district's needs and vision. The Board of Education will vote on whether to approve the final Master Facilities Plan at their next meeting on Tuesday, November 14.

This community-driven plan will help pave the way for 21st-century learning environments that support Kings students' future success. We encourage our Knight Nation community to review the full recommendations and presentation slides on the District website.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is always a great day in our District!

Several celebrations took place to honor our local Veterans. They enjoyed breakfasts, lunches, parades, and honors throughout our buildings.

Additionally, as a Veterans Day special, Local 12's Photojournalist, Ed Burkholder shared a story of brotherhood and bravery about three Veterans, Ron Potter, Josh Gass, and Kings School Resource Officer, Phil Green, who fought in Fallujah but didn't know one another.

Coincidentally, they are all connected now because of the Kings School District. Check out this video.
