Kings Facilities Update

Thank you to the over 1,200 community members who provided feedback in the second Master Facilities Planning Community Forum Survey!


The results of the survey will be collected and analyzed by the design firm, SHP. The next step is for the Kings Master Facilities Planning Community Advisory Team to work with SHP to look at the data and put together a potential building plan proposal to present to the Kings Board of Education.

Kings Marching Band Heads to STATE

It's a big weekend for the Kings Marching Band! They start the weekend performing at the Kings vs. Anderson playoff game on Friday night. On Saturday, they host the 2023 MSBA Class AAAA Championships where eleven bands from across the tri-state area will compete. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Buy tickets here.


On Sunday, the Band will head to the OMEA State Finals. They perform at 2:15 p.m. at Piqua High School. The community is invited to a Send Off Rally on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. at Kings High School to wish the Band well as they head to State.


Lastly, you don't want to miss their final performance when they host Community Night at Kings Stadium on Monday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. The performance is FREE for all. Our hardworking Band would love the community to come out and see them perform one last time for the season. Hope to see you there!

Holiday Assistance Needed

The holidays are nearing. If you were planning on adopting a child or family this year, please keep Kings Holiday Help in mind.


This year, we have over 100 families who are ready to be adopted for the holiday season. Individual and corporate sponsors are welcome! The deadline to adopt is December 1.

Kings Theatre Presents - "The Green Light"

You don't want to miss the World Premiere of the play, The Green Light!


This play was written by Kings High School graduates Alexandra Taylor and Kira Doebereiner who both participated in the Arts while at KHS.


The story...


Frenchie Fitzgerald has disappeared from Gilden Academy...right before announcing the winner of the Green Light Scholarship sponsored by her wealthy family. Aspiring student-journalist Aoife Desmond resolves to solve the case, but who knows what really happened? One of the scholarship applicants? Frenchie's boyfriend? Aoife joins forces with Fenchie's roommate and childhood friend, Jess Clark. Together, they try to unravel past scandals and navigate through current ones to get to the bottom of the mystery.

JFB & SLE Candy Collection for the Troops

It's that time of year again to begin preparing care packages for our Troops.


Thirteen years ago, J.F. Burns started the tradition of collecting Halloween candy to send to the Troops overseas. South Lebanon Elementary will join them in their efforts again this year.


The candy drive will begin on Wednesday, November 1, and run through Friday, November 10. Candy (and monetary) donations can be brought to either JFB, SLE, Mac's Pizza Pub Landen, and the City of South Lebanon Ohio Administrative Building.

Kings Kloset OPEN on Saturday

Kings Kloset is a volunteer-supported clothing center that provides free garments and supplies to those in need in the Kings Local School District.


The free store will be open on Saturday, November 4 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. located on the second floor of the Kings Education Center, 1797 King Avenue, Kings Mills.


On average, the Kings Kloset serves 30-50 individuals each month. They are open on the first Saturday of each month. The Kloset is in need is in need of winter coats for girls in sizes 6/6x - teen. Please only donate coats that are freshly laundered and free of rips, stains, and tears. As always, you can always help the Kloset by shopping on their Amazon Wishlist!

Mark Your Calendar for Breakfast With Santa

The ever-popular Breakfast With Santa will take place on Saturday, December 2, from 8:00-11:00 a.m. in the Kings High School Cafeteria. Cost is $7 per person or $25 per family of 4, which includes pancakes, bacon, juice, milk, and coffee.

Tips on School Safety

The Ohio School Safety Center, Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association (BSSA) , and Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) have partnered up to encourage students to engage in safe behaviors and want students, parents, and community members to know the risks of making threats to school safety.

Election Day 2023

Don't forget that there is an election day on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Early in-person voting ends on Sunday, November 5.


Polls will be open on Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. A photo ID is now required for in-person voting in Ohio. For more information visit voteohio.gov.

Meal Assistance Available for Students

The Kings Local School District encourages all families to submit an application for free or reduced-price meal eligibility regardless of family income. Students will qualify for free or reduced lunches if the household income falls within the limits of the Federal Income Guidelines.


Free and Reduced Meal Applications can be obtained in the front office of each school building, as well as the Kings website. Parents can also apply for the program online at https://payschoolscentral.com. Check your eligibility by completing an application TODAY.

Board Members

The Board of Education meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for a Work Session at 5:30 p.m. and the 3rd Tuesday of every month for a Regular Meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Digital Flyers

In an effort to be "green," the District does not send paper flyers home. We use a platform called Peachjar that houses flyers of community programs and resources. 


Parents receive approved flyers via email, and they are posted on our digital flyerboard for easy retrieval. Any organization can distribute information to our community by creating an account!

Kings Athletics Post-Season News

As the fall season is coming to a close for many teams there are some really exciting tournament events taking place over the next two days. 


The Kings Knights Football Team beat Loveland 38-17 last Friday in the first round of playoff action. They will travel to Anderson tonight for the second round. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. This playoff game is the OHSAA Sports Game of the Week and can be seen on Spectrum News One Ohio and the Spectrum News App or streamed here.


Our Lady Knights Volleyball Team beat Springboro last Saturday and became the District Champions for the first time in school history. They played in the Regional Semifinals on Wednesday against Ursuline and they came up on top in a nail-biter 5-set match. Kings is the first non-Girls Greater Catholic League team to appear in the bracket since Mason did in 2017.


After the regional semifinal win, our Lady Knights are the first non-Catholic school to appear in the regional final since 2012. The team is 25-1 and will be competing in the Regional Finals on Saturday, November 4 against St. Ursula at 2:00 p.m. at Lakota West. The game will be a red-out and there will be a pizza tailgate in the parking lot at Lakota West beginning at 12:15 p.m.


The Kings Cross Country team ran in the Regional Championships on Saturday, October 28. Congratulations to KHS Senior, Sam Thomas who has qualified for STATE! Sam will run at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 at Fortress Obetz and Memorial Park, 4175 Alum Creek Drive, Obetz, OH 43207.


Tickets can be purchased with cash at the door for the same price as online at ohsaa.org/tickets.

Kings Cheerleaders Qualify for Nationals

The Kings High School Competition Cheerleading Team competed at a regional competition last weekend.


As a result, both the Traditional and Game Day competition teams qualified for the NATIONAL High School Cheerleading Competition that will be held at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando Florida in February!  


The Kings High School Competition Cheerleading teams will be competing at a local competition this weekend! Other than the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Competition in February, this is the only local competition the team participates in.


The Team would love some support this Sunday, November 5 at Indian Hill High School (6865 Drake Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45243). Admission is cash only! The team will perform two routines; one at 4:12 p.m. and the second one at 5:57 p.m.
