National School Counseling Week | |
National School Counseling Week focuses public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. the week, sponsored by American School Counselor Association, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February. This year's theme is School Counselors: Helping Students Dream Big. As families know, our school counselors can have a tremendous impact on our schools, helping students achieve and plan for a life and career beyond high school.
From our youngest learners to graduating seniors, our Kings school counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing academic concerns, exploring career options, and helping students build social and emotional skills over their years at Kings. Counselors provide much-needed resources and support for students' families, teachers, and administrators, too.
Many thanks to Kim Sellers, Heidi Murray, Alex Garvin, Chris Griffin, Erika Volker, Becky Lemon, Bekah Issacs, Megan Apple, Erin Hackman, Dave Winebrenner, Keri Perdrix, Emily Sander, and Tom Snyder. Let's not forget our awesome Therapy Dogs, Gily, Raven, and Ollie!

We can't help but be disappointed that our Bengals aren't in the Super Bowl this year. But, the students and staff at Kings Mills Elementary continued their annual Souper Bowl Canned Goods Drive this year.
All week, students and staff brought in their canned goods to support the team they are hoping to win the Super Bowl; either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Kansas City Chiefs.
It looks like this year, the winner is the Philadelphia Eagles. We will see what happens on Sunday!
All of the donated canned goods will be donated to the Kings Local Food Pantry.

The Warren County Engineer's Office has alerted us of some local road closures that you may want to be aware of.
Grandin Road, between Grandin Ridge Drive and Venture Way, will experience intermittent closures Monday, February 20, through Thursday, February 23, during the day time hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Closures are necessary for Duke Energy crews to complete short-term full closure(s) of Grandin Road to remove overhead lines. Specific time of the closure(s) are undetermined, and as these will be short-term closures, traffic will be stopped and held by law enforcement officers. Motorists may want to seek alternate routes to avoid delay. Intermittent single-lane restrictions will also be in place while crews are at work at other times, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers. No detour will be posted.
Fosters-Maineville Road, between Faller Road and Kings Court, will be closed beginning Monday, February 20, for five (5) days, weather permitting. The closure is for an underground utility construction, which will be completed by a contractor for the Warren County Water and Sewer Department. The detour for the closure will utilize Old 3’C Highway, US22/SR3 and SR48.
