Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year!
If your child is experiencing any symptoms of illness, it is recommended to keep your child home from school until symptoms improve. If your child has a fever, like with any other illness, they are to stay home from school until they are fever-free for 24 hours.
It is important that individuals take personal responsibility for monitoring their health and the health of their families. If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, it is recommended that they stay home for 5 days and are fever free before returning to school. We will not be contact tracing, so there is no need to contact the school regarding a positive test. You will just need to contact your child’s school and let them know of their absence.
It is sometimes difficult to decide when and how long to keep an ill child home from school. The timing of the absence is often important in order to decrease the spread of disease to others and to prevent your child from acquiring other illnesses while his/her resistance is lowered.
