Board Recognition Month
The Kings Local School District joins more than 700 school districts throughout Ohio to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month.

Our school board members are civil servants who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult decisions for our District. They serve as a link between the community and classroom and are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for public schools.

We would like to thank Stacie Belfrom, Deb Cowan, Dan Egan, Peggy Phillips, and Rona Walter for caring about our children and giving so much to our community.

At Tuesday, January 19 Board of Education Meeting, the five Board Members were recognized with certificates and cards made by students in Miss Pagan, Mrs. Clements, Mrs. Westley, and Mrs. Thomases classes. Thank you, Kings Board of Education. Your dedicated service is recognized and appreciated!

FREE Meals Continue for ALL Students
All students, whether they are In-Person Knights or Remote/Distance Learning (Virtual Knights, Online Knights, or Homeschoolers) will continue to be offered free meal opportunities.

For those learning remotely, our Meal Distribution will be held on Mondays through the end of the school year, except for holiday or school closures, dates may alter.

For the safety and convenience of parents and students, meals will be pre-bagged and will be provided through a drive-up service. Meals Distribution is from 1:45 p.m.-2:45 p.m. at Columbia Intermediate School, 8263 Columbia Road.

To help our Kings Food Service Department plan meals, if you are interested in the month of February, please enter your requests here.

Sign up for meals is not required but is helpful for planning purposes.

If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Arlinghaus, Food Service Director at 513-398-8050, ext. 10027. We are thankful to the Food Service Department and the Ohio Department of Education for allowing us the opportunity to provide FREE meals for all of our students.

Social-Emotional Health Tip on Sleep
Kings Social & Emotional Health Coordinator, Kim Sellers offers parenting tips during a pandemic.

Parenting has reached a whole new level of stress during the COVID-19 pandemic and many parents are without their usual ways of knowing how their kids are actually doing—especially when it comes to their mental health. Brightline offers a free, online COVID-19 Behavioral Health Indicator (COBI) to equip you with information about the potential impact of the pandemic on kids’ behavioral health. It will take you about 10 minutes to complete, and your responses can then help you to have a conversation with a healthcare provider. Take it here.
