College Credit Plus Informational Meeting
Any families interested in participating in the College Credit Plus (CCP) program for the next school year are highly encouraged to attend a Virtual Information Fair on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 6:00 pm.

Those who are interested in the Fair can prepare in advance by viewing the different college presentations and register for a live Q&A session via Zoom.

Potential students are not required to participate in this event to be eligible for College Credit Plus but this is a convenient way to gather more information as you consider CCP as part of your high school experience.

College Credit Plus is Ohio's dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities.
D&I Task Force to Meet
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, January 19 at 5:00 p.m. for the first Kings Diversity and Inclusion Task Force meeting of the new year.

All meetings will be held virtually. Zoom links will be provided a few days prior to the meeting on the D&I page of the Kings website and can be found on Kings social media.
Welcome Ollie to SLE
South Lebanon Elementary is very excited to introduce their newest SLE staff member (in training) - Ollie. Ollie is a Standard Poodle. He is hypoallergenic and non-shedding to minimize the risk of allergies.

He is a new family member in second-grade teacher, Megan Reese's family.
Ollie will be starting therapy dog training. When he completes his training, he will be a therapy dog who will be assisting SLE Principal, Belinda Atkins in supporting students. He will not start interacting with students until he has completed all of his training and passed his certification test (hopefully this Spring). Upon completing training,

Ollie will have received extensive training on how to interact with elementary students in a school environment as well as undergone temperament and obedience training. In addition, to Mrs. Atkins, SLE School Counselor, Tom Snyder will be trained as a handler for Ollie.

Ollie joins Raven and Gily, therapy dogs at J.F. Burns Elementary and Kings Mills Elementary, respectively. Welcome, Ollie!
Kings Cares Calls Program
In order to keep connected with our Kings Online Knights, the Kings High School National Honor Society has created an initiative called, Kings Cares Calls.

This initiative was created to provide some positive communication via Zoom with our online learners. NHS students are assigned a family to connect with. The NHS students reach out to the family and set times to call their assigned students. The calls last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, and are taking place every few weeks.

The idea came from Indian Hill student, Sophia Chabris. Sophia came up with the idea and students at Indian Hill have been doing the same type of program. Sophia helped Kings NHS to get the idea up and running.

KHS School Counselor, Erika Volker said, "So far we have received wonderful reviews from both NHS students and families participating about the relief it has provided for many of our students facing isolation from working remotely."
