For the past several years, Kings High School Parent Teacher Organization has celebrated the highest academic achieving seniors at halftime of the football games. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, this annual tradition will not be able to happen.
We still wanted to celebrate these students who excel in the classroom and are active members of the Kings community. Click below to learn more about this week's KHS PTO Academic Achievers, Abigail MacNeil and Amrith Akula.

Students in Mrs. Casseday’s class at Columbia Intermediate School read a current event article about the world’s largest Krispy Kreme Doughnut store that just opened in Times Square in New York City. The students ran a pretend doughnut store, made playdoh doughnuts, and graphed their favorite type of doughnuts! Yum!

Kings COVID-19 Data Reporting Requirement
|
|
The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Governor DeWine issued a new general health order that provides mandatory requirements for school operations and reporting of COVID-19 data for both parents and school officials.
Each week the COVID-19 Dashboard will be updated with number of positive cases and quarantines. The dashboard can be found on the home page of the Kings website or found on the Coronavirus page on the Kings website.
Parents or guardians of students, and school staff, are strongly encouraged to provide notice of a positive case diagnosis within 24 hours. Parents should call their student's school building and speak to the building nurse. The Kings School District employs a designated COVID-19 Contact Tracer to monitor quarantines and positive test results. This tracking system will be monitored daily for updated reporting on COVID-19 cases.
Parents are also encouraged to notify the District of testing due to suspected cases of COVID-19, regardless of the result. Efficient contact tracing involves both notification and timing of close contacts with the child or adult who may be considered a suspected case. If your child is tested, please keep them home from school until you receive results.
Please continue to perform a daily health assessment on your student before coming to school. You can utilize this Decision Tree to help decide if you should send your child to school.

KHS Jules Fink Gets 1,000th Career Kill
|
|
Congratulations to Kings High School Senior Volleyball Player Jules Fink who recently made her 1,000th career kill!
Jules, who is a team captain on this year's squad has many athletic accolades under her belt including 2019 ECC Athlete of the Year and leads Kings in career kills and blocks.
Jules has been playing volleyball since 7th grade. She will be graduating early (December) from KHS to begin her career of playing volleyball at Utah Valley University. Jules was offered full scholarship offers from five D1 colleges but chose UVU because "the environment, the program, and the support was everything I was looking for. Not to mention the gorgeous campus overlooking the mountains!! The more I thought about my decision, the more sure I became that Utah Valley was the school for me,” she said.
Jules’ college coach has asked her to graduate from high school a semester early. By doing this, Jules will be able to play in UVU’s spring semester and it doesn’t effect her eligibility. Fortunately, she was ahead of schedule with her needed credits to graduate early.
Congratulations and good luck, Jules!
