Local Veterinary Clinic Donates Kings Therapy Dog Care
Kings Elementary School Counselors, Emily Sander, and Keri Perdrix would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Joey Pursifull and Animal Care Centers of Cincinnati for providing FREE veterinary care to our district therapy dogs, Gily and Raven!

Mr. Pursifull said that Animal Care Centers of Cincinnati was thrilled to offer no-charge veterinary care and support to Kings therapy dogs and had this to say about their work with therapy dogs in the community, “We have been blessed by our local communities and love that we are able to give back to another outreach program that will impact our students. We understand that therapy dogs can perform wonders in schools, from relieving stress to boosting attendance and test scores, so it fills our heart to be able to provide Gily and Raven with the care that they need!”

Thank you so much to Mr. Pursifull and Animal Care Centers of Cincinnati for your generosity and support! What a gift! #KingsStrong

Social Emotional Update
An update from Kings Social & Emotional Coordinator, Kim Sellers.

Hello Kings Families!

I am inspired every day by our student's great capacity for resilience and growth. This resilience occurs through a network of internal and external resources in the lives of children. The question we face is how can we support the resilience of our children this holiday season?

We can start by helping our children "cope ahead". Start talking about the holidays to prepare them for what to expect and what will be different. Help them understand, as they have likely learned already this year, that plans may change at the last minute due to an unforeseen illness or last-minute travel cancellations. Allow children a sense of control by offering them some choices.

Even though the Coronavirus pandemic is stressful and can lead to some long term challenges for some youth, what you do now can make a difference down the road. The Child Mind Institute is an excellent resource, including this article, Will My Child Bounce Back From The Coronavirus Crisis? (En Espanol: ¿Se recuperará mi hijo de la crisis del coronavirus?).

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me for any questions, concerns or resources at ksellers@kingslocal.net.
KHS PTO Academic Achievers - Week 10

Typically, these students are recognized at half-time of the Friday night home football games, but this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, this annual tradition wasn't able to happen in person.
