Preparations are being made for the return of our students and staff. Kings Superintendent, Greg Sears thoroughly reviewed the current return to school plans with the Board of Education on Tuesday, August 10. He shared that the safety of our students and staff is a top priority and stressed the importance of delivering in-person learning for our students. We will continue to follow the requirements of local health officials and we are constantly monitoring local health data.
Currently, we are recommending masks inside our buildings and will positively support any staff or students who choose to wear masks. We truly believe that wearing a mask at school, regardless of vaccination status, will be very helpful to keep students and staff from having to quarantine and miss school.
Additionally, masks are required to be worn on school transportation. We will continue to assess and monitor our school and health data each week to determine if a facial covering requirement will be warranted.
There are new quarantine protocols provided by the Ohio Department of Health that were released last Friday. Please make yourself familiar with the protocols. Additionally, we ask that you conduct daily home health assessments which include temperature checks and COVID symptom checks
Please keep your child home if they are ill, have a 100 degree temperature in the last 72 hours, coughing, achiness, congestion, etc.
Together we can work together to keep our students and staff learning in-person!

Parent/Student Reunification Protocol
|
|
Please read this important information regarding District emergency plans.
The Kings Local School District takes the safety and security of our staff and students very seriously. As a part of an Ohio Revised Code requirement, the District is required to inform students and parents/guardians before the first day of school each year of our emergency parental notification protocols.
In the event of an emergency where an evacuation of the school building is necessary, we have identified off-site locations (reunification sites) to transport students to safety. In emergency situations, we will disseminate information through our All-Call system, as well as use email, text messages, website, and district social media. Additionally, we will continue to provide updates through the above avenues as needed.
