We had a great first week of soft-start. Students learned safety protocols and created great relationships with their teachers!

On Tuesday, September 8, our In-Person and Online Knights will begin full-day instruction.

For details on back to school, please visit our Reopening Plan website resource page. You will find information on safety protocols, online learning resources, what you can expect, FAQ's, and more

Social & Emotional Update
An update from Kings Social Emotional Coordinator, Kim Sellers

As we welcome our students back to school, regardless if that is online or in person, I wanted to continue to share resources for social emotional, mental health, and wellness. There have been a few updates to the In5 State of Mind Speaker Series that you can watch here. Child Mind Institute also has some excellent videos for parents on their website and social media platforms.

We know that parents are struggling to balance work, child care and self-care while keeping worries - both your children's and your own - under control. You don't have to do it alone! Check out this Back-To-School and Your Child's Mental Health  video. Anxiety can impact not only our young people, but parents as well! Take a few minutes to watch this video on Back-To-School Anxiety.

Here are a few excellent articles as well:

Take good care of yourself!
Kings Students Raise Money for Food Pantry
Five Kings students started a service club in the Riverwood Trails neighborhood during quarantine. Kings Junior High School 8th grader, Corina Macy presented the idea at the neighborhood's annual HOA meeting.

Corina, along with Priya Godby, Stella Godby, Peyton Moody, and Addison Wells worked odd jobs around the neighborhood for donations only. They ended up raising $150 and recently made an in-person donation to the Kings Local Food Pantry.

Way to go, girls!
Don't Miss the Next Community Art Night!
Join us for the next Community Art Night!

The Kings Art Program is dedicated to spreading kindness through art for adults and children of all ages.

The first activity of the year is to create a lollipop flower pot. During this free art night, supply bags will be sent home with any student in the Kings School District containing enough supplies for the entire family to have the opportunity to paint a flower pot and create lollipop flowers.
