It's already week two, and the energy on campus is amazing! As we get into the swing of things, this is the perfect time to fine-tune your schedule and build habits for a successful semester.

This is your final opportunity to make changes to your fall schedule. The add/drop period ends on September 8th, so check Student Admin now to make sure your schedule is just right. A well-balanced schedule is key to a great semester!

Now's the time to establish habits that will set you up for success. By organizing your study space and planning your week, you'll stay ahead of your workload.

In case you missed it, there are a few important academic updates. UConn has implemented a new system for Catalog Years, allowing students to have distinct requirements for their various programs and majors. Additionally, students now have the option to switch from the standard General Education requirements to the more flexible Common Curriculum. If you have any questions, please speak with a professional advisor during virtual drop-in advising.

Tippie College of Business National Impact Case Competition

Are you interested in being one of four students (only two spots are available for seniors) to join the team representing UConn at the Tippie College of Business National Impact Case Competition taking place October 31st – November 1st?

If so, please read carefully:

• All travel costs will be covered by the School of Business.
• You must be certain you are available for the competition dates.
• To be considered, email your résumé to kelly.kennedy@uconn.edu with “Tippie” in the subject line no later than Thursday, September 4, at 5:00 PM.
• All business majors and class years are welcome to apply.

The College to Climate CAREERLAB is a 2 hour, ultra-interactive session that will teach students everything they need to know about finding a job in climate. Each student leaves with a personalized list of companies to reach out to, cold emails & LinkedIn messages drafted, and tangible next steps to move their job search forward. 

In this session, we’ll cover:

🧭 How to find your climate niche

🤝 How to network and stand out to employers

🤖 How to use AI to boost your search

Applications for the first-year women cohort of Werth Innovators is now open! Current first-year women UConn students from any major are eligible to apply. Participation will lead to opportunities to develop your idea through community, skills and resources, and mentorship.

Successful 2026 spring semester participation leads to a $4k paid full time remote summer 2026 internship to execute on an idea! Eligible incoming students are encouraged to apply now. The Werth Institute's NetWerx Program cultivates essential networking and other entrepreneurial skills through a student-driven mentorship model.

Students develop the skills they need to succeed in today's work environments, through networking, communication, accountability, and opportunity recognition, regardless of career path. NetWerx helps students recognize who they are, what they know, and who they need to know to develop their entrepreneurial skills and realize their potential. Skills include networking, self-confidence, communication, accountability, and opportunity recognition.

Business Communication Lab

Need help putting together a pitch deck for a class or editing a report? Don't understand your assignment guidelines, or aren't sure how to get started on a project? Schedule a 20-minute virtual meeting with the Business Communication Lab.

The material you would like to review with us must be assigned by a current course in the School of Business. Upon registering for your appointment, you will be requested to provide the assignment guideline sheet and other necessary documents for the Lab staff to fully understand the scope of the task or project.

UConn Q and W Centers

The UConn Q and W Centers are open to assist students with a range of Quantitative courses (including math, chemistry, physics, and statistics) and Writing courses. The centers are open for drop ins and provides free tutoring.

UConn Academic Achievement Center

The AAC is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals by offering a range of support services. These include personalized coaching, workshops on academic success strategies, and resources like supplemental instruction to assist students in managing their coursework effectively. The AAC is located in Rowe, Room 217 and is open to all students navigating their academic journey at UConn.
