MEET IMA, AN ANALYTICS & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT MAJOR

Ima Talipan-Pinedo is an Analytics and Information Management major with a concentration in IT Security. She currently serves as President of ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) for the 2025-2026 academic year. Ima pioneered Amigos Conectado, ALPFA UConn’s first professional mentorship program connecting students with professionals from Webster Bank. She expertly manages club logistics, fundraisers, and events, while collaborating with companies to create and present weekly networking opportunities.
As a School of Business Peer Mentor, Ima advises first-year students on academic planning and extracurricular involvement, drawing on her own experiences. She also teaches weekly finance classes through the Financial Literacy Innovation Program, fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment. Alongside these roles, she works as a Student Administrative Assistant in the Operations and Information Management Department.
Ima interned at PwC in New York City as a Cloud & Digital Tech Advisory Intern, developing skills in data analytics and visualization tools like Excel and PowerBI. She was also accepted into the competitive Management Leadership for Tomorrow Career Prep program, enhancing her leadership and technical skills with personalized coaching. Next summer, Ima will intern with Deloitte as a Business Technology Solutions Summer Scholar in NYC. She encourages others to embrace their unique stories, especially as a first-generation student, advocating confidence and self-belief.

This year’s challenge focuses on corporate decarbonization within the broader context of a fair and just climate transition. Students will work together as action-oriented problem-solvers to apply their business skills to one of the world’s greatest challenges.
