Members of the Kelowna Chamber are invited to an exclusive virtual town hall with B.C. Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson Thursday June 25 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm to discuss the effects of COVID-19 on provincial politics and the economy, what British Columbia's recovery should look like, and how we can be best positioned to succeed in the post-pandemic reality. Chamber's Top 40 Program Honours Special Health Care Providers

The Kelowna Chamber is adding four honorary mentions to its Top Forty Under 40 Program presented by BDO. Top 40 judge Dr Eric Li, Associate Professor in the UBC Okanagan Faculty of Management, suggested the Chamber recognize the contributions made by health care workers in the past few months with this gesture. JORGE ANGEL-MIRA | Manager of Medical Device Reprocessing, Operating Room Equipment and Supplies, Kelowna General Hospital

Jorge Angel-Mira’s background and culture helped to shape and inform his research and career in the healthcare field, leading him to make a difference in Canada and Central America. A volunteer opportunity at an orphanage in Central America early in his career later turned into a thesis focused on the political, economic, and health impacts of mineral extraction in Central America with a focus on the Central American Free Trade Agreement, which later informed government policy in El Salvador. Now at KGH, Jorge enjoys knowing that the work he and his team do every day has a direct impact on people's lives.

Throughout his life and career, Jorge has been incredibly focused on sport, particularly soccer. He has played at a high level for Canada Youth Soccer Teams, the USL Whitecaps Men’s Soccer Team, and in 2012 he was invited to El Salvador for the U-23 Olympic Team camp.
