Our Community, Coffee, and Conversation group will meet this Tuesday, March 22 at 11 a.m., to continue our discussion of the season of Lent. Unity's publication, Release and Renew 2022: A Spiritual Practice for Lent, is the springboard of our discussion. Please join us on Zoom. (Link below.)
Our Small Group Ministry is exploring different ways to help those in our community. Click link to review some of the programs we are looking into:

The A Course in Miracles study group will NOT meet this Thursday. We will resume on the following Thursday, March 31.
We know that there is good all-around and within us and we seek to enter that flow, nurture, and encourage it as we pray together and work together for the greater good of all in service to God.
The purpose of our Small Group Ministry is to join together in study, prayer, and meditation as we grow in greater spiritual understanding and serve our community.
We are grateful to be on this Journey with you! ❤

Lent: A Time To Renew
Lent is a season of spiritual growth, a time for progressive unfoldment. When we can blend and merge our mind with God-Mind, the way is open for the Lord to glorify us and to lift us into a higher, purer, more spiritual state. Join us this Tuesday in meditation, prayer and discussion on relevant topics.
Resources for our study include the Bible (Isaiah 58:5-9), Keep A True Lent by Charles Fillmore, and The Week That Was by Ernest Wilson, and Unity's publication "Release and Renew 2022: A Spiritual Practice for Lent."
“When we withdraw our attention, interest, and support from the false and the unworthy, this is true fasting. When we give that same attention, interest, and support to the enduring good, we are feasting on the things of the Spirit, and this is true prayer. When we have truly fasted in the Christ way we have increased our ability to respond to God’s good will.”

SMILE Meditation
With all that is going on in the world, sometimes we forget to smile. Smiling is a spiritual practice. Today's meditation will lift your spirits and make you smile.

Community Outreach
We've sent a donation to Union County Isaiah 117. Isaiah 117 House provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement.
When children are removed from their homes out of the concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children's Services Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and often in dirty clothing.
|
|
Isaiah 117 wants to provide a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait-a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide them clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space will allow children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff are able to the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement.

“A Litany of Belonging”
We would like to let you know that you belong:
People on all parts of the continuum of gender identity and expression, including those who are gay, bisexual, heterosexual, transgender, cisgender, queer folks, the sexually active, the celibate, and everyone for whom those labels don’t apply. Response: I belong.
People of African descent, of Asian descent, of European descent, of First Nations descent in this land and abroad, and people of mixed and multiple descents and of all the languages spoken here. Response: I belong.
Bodies with all abilities and challenges. Those living with any chronic medical condition, visible or invisible, mental or physical. Response: I belong.
People who identify as activists and those who don’t. Mystics, believers, seekers of all kinds. People of all ages. Those who support you to be here. Response: I belong.
|
|
Your emotions: joy, fear, grief, contentment, disappointment, surprise, and all else that flows through you. Response: I belong.
Your families, genetic and otherwise. Those dear to us who have died. Our ancestors and the future ones. The ancestors who lived in this land, in this place, where these buildings are now . . . we honor you through this work that we are undertaking. Response: I belong.
People who feel broken, lost, struggling; who suffer from self-doubt and self-judgment. Response: I belong.
All beings that inhabit this earth: the two-legged, the four-legged, winged and finned, those that walk, fly, and crawl, above the ground and below, in air and water. Response: I belong.

"Help Yourself to Happiness"
Everybody, everywhere
seeks happiness, it's true,
But finding it and keeping it
seem difficult to do.
Difficult because we think
that happiness is found
Only in the places where
wealth and fame abound.
And so we go on searching
in palaces of pleasure
Seeking recognition
and monetary treasure,
Unaware that happiness
is just a state of mind
Within the reach of everyone
who takes time to be kind.
For in making others happy
we will be happy, too.
For the happiness you give away
returns to shine on you.

Unity's Five Basic Principles
We encourage you to explore and apply Unity teachings based on your own spiritual understanding. We believe this spiritual understanding is enhanced through reflective prayer and meditation.
The five basic ideas that make up the Unity belief system are:
- There is only one Presence and one Power active as the Universe and in my life, God the Good.
- Our essence is of God; therefore we are inherently good. This God essence was fully expressed in Jesus, the Christ.
- We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in Mind.
- Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God. Denials and affirmations are tools we use.
- Through thoughts, words, and actions, we live the Truth we know.
