Fall Fun is in the Air

We’re clinging to the fleeting moments of summer, but there’s no doubt about it, fall is in the air. While, these summer months have brought so much fun, fame, and fresh new faces to Lake City, there’s something about the autumn months that make this area truly special. Whether you enjoy a quiet crisp morning on the river or twisting your way through bluffs on county roads or hugging Lake Pepin on Highway 61, you can’t beat Lake City for amazing colors and vistas. We’re a place where families can find fun, treats, and gifts at Pepin Heights, experience fantastic art at LCAA, explore the shops and restaurants in downtown, and hike to the heart’s content at Hok Si La and Frontenac parks. And now, for its second year, Fall Fest is back with an October filled with exciting events..

From the 150th Committee...

Camp Fire Girls was chartered in 1946 and was an active youth organization in Lake City until 2003. It provided an opportunity for girls to participate in clubs that provided training in outdoor skills, community service and leadership while building self confidence and having fun.

To celebrate the 57 years, a group of alumni are inviting all Camp Fire members to a reunion Sunday, Sept 18th at 2 PM at Hok-Si-La Park in Lake City (Shelter 3). The event will include time for groups to reminisce, share memorabilia, and enjoy a camp fire with singing the songs still easily remembered.

Camp Fire alumni are also invited to join the Lake City MN Camp Fire Reunion Facebook page for updates and to share memories.

Attendees should bring a lawn chair and any memorabilia they would like to share.
