Club Updates
March 15, 2021
Thank you to our members, guests, and staff for their continued cooperation throughout the pandemic. Working together, we've been able to safely re-open our tennis facility. Here are some new developments that may interest you:

  • Small group lessons and clinics are resuming for up to four participants (children or adult).
  • Punch-card holders and members of the public are now able to play at the club.
  • MIT's Pro Shop has new ladies apparel in stock and will soon have more T-shirts available as well. Let us know if we don't have your size - we can order it for you!

Advance reservations are required for all court time. Adult leagues and drop-in times are still on hold, per State directive. MIT's COVID safety protocols remain in place, including attentiveness to masking, hand washing, and distancing protocols.
Thank you again for your patience and support over the past year and moving forward.
Welcome New Members!
We are delighted to welcome 10 new members to Middlebury Indoor Tennis! Please say hello to Lois Alberts, Barb Beatty, Jason Didonato, Michael Johnston, Bridget Nardiello, Jay Parini, Bryan Phelps, Sarah Raunecker, Ron Slabaugh and Trey Shores. Looking for someone to play tennis with? Email or call us!! We can add your name to a growing list at our front desk of members who are looking for more opportunities to play.
Hoping to meet more people to hit with? Looking for specific tennis programs? Is there something you wish we'd carry in our Pro Shop? We want to make your experience at MIT as positive as possible. Please share your suggestions!
The Middlebury Union High School Boys' Tennis Team needs a coach this spring. If you are interested in helping to grow the game of tennis in our community, please contact Sean Farrell at MUHS.
Remembering Bob Johnson
Our community lost a dear friend on March 7, 2021. Robert "Bob" Johnson was one of MIT's first members and was a cheerful and enthusiastic presence at our club for many years. Bob played on USTA teams out of MIT well into his 80's and truly embraced tennis as a game for life. Bob passed away at the age of 96 and will be greatly missed. As COVID permits, we hope to host a gathering to honor Bob's memory in the spring.
