Temporary closure extended for City facilities


The City of Ventura has extended its temporary closure of facilities and suspension of most in-person recreational programming until Monday, January 31, 2022, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases countywide.

 

The City will continue to monitor cases at the end of January and re-evaluate dates for safely reopening facilities.

Get a jumpstart on spring cleaning by participating in the next Community Cleanup & Recycling Event, hosted on Saturday, February 12, from 8:30-11:30 a.m.


Drop off unwanted items to be properly disposed of or recycled. Items accepted: 

  • Household, trash, and garage Items: appliances, clothing, furniture, and metal
  • Electronic waste: computers, TVs, printers, audio/video equipment 
  • Tires (limit 4 per household)


Secure document shred services will also be available at this event. Space is limited. Advance registration required. Free event for City of Ventura residents. Proof of residency required.


Household Hazardous Waste items will not be accepted. For HHW events, visit www.CityofVentura.ca.gov/HHW.

Ventura has received a lot of rain in recent weeks, which increases potholes found around the community.


Our City Streets Team cares a lot about our roadways and has been hard at work fixing and filling potholes. In the last few weeks, they've completed over 250 pothole repairs with more to go!

The community is invited to a virtual forum on Saturday, January 22 from 1-3 p.m. Share ideas to include in the City of Ventura's grant application to renovate the Ventura River Trail and learn about the Clean California Local Grant Program by Caltrans.

This includes two special meetings hosted on January 29 at 9 a.m. for Council Goal Setting Session #3 and the January 31 at

6 p.m. for the Housing Element.
