At FWGBD, we know that for many, menstruation is more than a monthly experience—it can be a medical challenge. That's why Menstrual Hygiene Day is vital. It's a global reminder that menstrual health is a critical part of overall health, and that equitable access to education, care, and products is essential, especially for those living with blood disorders.

We ask you to join us in our mission to ensure that no girl or woman is dismissed, misdiagnosed, or left to suffer in silence. Today, we are highlighting our resources for medical teams and the individuals they care for.

Let’s use this day to advocate, educate, and empower.

Educate on the Signs & Symptoms of HMB

Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) is often the first and only sign of a bleeding disorder in women and girls. Yet, too many remain undiagnosed, impacting their health, education, and quality of life.

The Learning Module: Clinical Strategies for the Management of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, is a resource for any healthcare professional who provides care to women and girls. The module offers a no-cost on-demand webinar, providing one hour of CME/CEs, an online reading curriculum, and soon - an animation highlighting screening best practices.

Empower Others to Normalize Periods

When we talk openly about periods and bleeding disorders, we empower individuals to seek care, get diagnosed, and live healthier lives. For too long, menstruation, especially heavy menstrual bleeding, has been dismissed as “normal.” But for some women and girls with blood disorders, silence isn’t just isolating—it can be dangerous.

Listen to our newest episode of the 7-2-1, Menstrual Bleeding is NOT a Stigma, where our experts have a discussion on why stigma around menstrual bleeding exists, where it comes from, and how we can challenge it together.

When we talk openly about periods and bleeding disorders, we empower individuals to seek care, get diagnosed, and live healthier lives. Listen to all the episodes of the 7-2-1 here, or click the button below to listen to Episode 11: Menstrural Bleeding is NOT a Stigma.
