Dear friend,
February is soon upon us. If you are in the Northeast, you are buried in snow amid frigid temperatures. The warmth of the color orange is not something we see outside right now in much of the Northern hemisphere. Today's musical offering will take you back to the June 2021 warmth of an Istanbul summer. Three musicians from three different worlds met in a living room in Istanbul for musical dialogue together. They had never played music together before, but the melding of their traditions coalesced into an afternoon of improvisations. We call this one, simply, Orange. Engin Özşahin (Turkey) plays piano, Ameen Mokdad (Iraq) plays violin, and Kevin Bishop (USA) plays viola.
