The much-anticipated Recital Season is here at Musical Surprise! We are thrilled to invite you to showcase your talent at this semi-annual event, held in collaboration with Paradise Honors Schools at their beautiful venue.

To participate, please discuss your interest with your teachers. Registration opens on September 15th, and a link for self-booking will be sent to your email.

Teacher Feature: Lucas M.

Piano & Voice Specialist

Our Teacher Feature for the month of September is Lucas!

"Hi, I’m Lucas Miles. For over 7 years, I’ve been a dedicated instructor at Musical Surprise, where I teach piano, voice, and guitar. Teaching music is my passion, and I find immense joy in shaping the next generation of musicians. My commitment to my students is unwavering, as I invest a great deal of time and effort into helping them achieve their musical goals.

In addition to teaching, I am an accomplished composer and songwriter. I’ve collaborated with various artists to create tailored music across different genres, including backing tracks and instrumental pieces.

On a personal note, I’m fortunate to have a wonderful and supportive wife. Our family also includes two energetic dogs, a cat, a corn snake, and an aldabra tortoise. Outside of work, I cherish spending quality time with my loved ones and our furry friends."

Staff Feature: Jude 🎶

Meet Jude, our fantastic Front Desk Staff member at Musical Surprise!

Jude joined us in April 2024 and has quickly become an integral part of our team. Currently a Music Education student, Jude is on a path to becoming a guitar teacher, with aspirations of running his own high school guitar program—unless he becomes a rockstar first! He studies at Glendale Community College, where he's performed in the GCC Rock/Pop Ensembles and the GCC Guitar Ensemble under Chuck Hullihan. This semester, he’ll be part of the guitar trio. Outside of music, Jude enjoys piña coladas, getting caught in the rain, zombie movies, and 2000s emo bands.

What do you like most about working at Musical Surprise?

"My first thought was that my favorite thing about working at Musical Surprise is being surrounded by music and instruments all the time. But honestly, my favorite part is the welcoming community that surrounds the store! It’s awesome to see the same families and teachers come in every week, and even cooler to watch students I helped sign up grow as musicians. Every member of the staff is wonderful and friendly."
