We Can Do This: Learning & Teaching Online, through Crisis, & Beyond
June 14, 16, 21, 23, 2 PM to 3:30 PM
Anxious about prepping for Fall? We can do this, together! Let’s leverage the past two years of change in course delivery to get to the core of effective teaching: designing for equity and student engagement. Join 3CSN Coordinator Sarah Sullivan and faculty colleagues from across the state for this four-part design lab.

We will build relationships and knowledge together, focusing on effective online pedagogy and student-centered active learning, and directly apply our learning and metacognitive reflections to redesign elements of our fall courses.

Hello, Is it me you’re looking for?: e-portfolios as tools for engagement, assessment, and completion
June 15, 17, 22, 24, 10 AM - 11:30 AM
Searching for a way to engage and assess students that can showcase their personal and professional growth throughout college and beyond? Want the space to try it out in community with educators across the state?

Join 3CSN coordinators Kelan Koning and Diana Bonilla Hein, past participants Trang Abeid and Jamey Cooper, and student designer Theresia Mekdessi, for this design lab to learn about the various possibilities for, and value of, ePortfolios, and to design an ePortfolio project of your own.

Content will explore implementation across the disciplines as well as uses such as welcome sites, liquid syllabi, and professional ePortfolios. Wix, Google Sites, and Portfolium will be explored as options.

Empowering Classified for Equity Leadership
June 14 - 16, 11:30 AM to 1PM
Classified professionals across the state are stepping up to help realize our long-sought goal of equity for students and for all employees within the California Community Colleges. Classified professionals are central to this mission. Working as collaborative partners and change agents across the state, we continue to further this goal.

Join San Diego Mesa College classified professionals (BSILI 2019) Anda McComb, Carla Grossini-Concha, Eva Parrill, and Trina Larson, for this three-part design lab in which we will explore the role and potential of classified professionals as equity-minded leaders in the California Community College system and consider a framework for action.

Attendees will receive a certificate for their participation in all three 90-minute sessions and will have the option to schedule a free one-on-one consultation with the presenters.

*New* Lighting the Path: New Strategies for Guiding Undecided Students
July 13, 15, 20, 22; July 13 & 20, 12:30 to 2:00 PM; July 15 & 22, 10 AM to 11:30 AM
In times of uncertainty, community college educators are even more essential in supporting students, particularly those who are undecided or uncertain about their educational and career goals. Together, we can support them on their journey by helping them gain the self-awareness, knowledge, critical thinking/inquiry skills, and experiences that provide clarity and instill initiative.

Join 3CSN coordinators Joanna Zimring Towne (LA College Promise) and Diana Bonilla Hein (LA Mission College) for this lab where we will take a deeper dive into CCRC’s framework of Ask, Connect, Inspire and Plan to help students who are still exploring make a meaningful and informed choice. We will explore models and best practices for expanding and embedding the career exploration process throughout the entire campus and providing opportunities for career and major exploration as part of your ongoing Guided Pathways implementation.
