September is Life Insurance Awareness Month.

It's a good opportunity to revisit something many of us set up once and rarely think about again — until life changes and we're not sure if our coverage still holds up.

Join us and our benefits partner, AMBA*, for an educational webinar where we'll break down what to know and what to consider:

Life Insurance Basics for Retirees

Date: September 9th

Time: 1:00 PM EST

During this session, we'll cover:

  • What happens to your policy as your situation changes
  • A common mistake people make with their benefits
  • How life insurance can still protect your family

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

Already registered? Feel free to share this invite with a friend, family member, or fellow member who could benefit. 🤝

Whether you're planning ahead for yourself or making sure your family is covered, understanding where you stand can help you make more informed choices for your legacy.

No deep thoughts this month. FREA Board Meetings this week to prep for, and deep thinking is save for those, sort of. Fortunatley these articles popped into my inbox and I can share with you.

Are you organized? I think everyone is to a point. I am very organized at work, and occasionally go into organization frenzies at home, but I must confess, when it comes to my social life, that is all up to my guy Gary. I can't do it. Anyway, we all have it: the dreaded kitchen "junk drawer". The home of stray paper clips, lip stuff, rubber bands, keys to who-knows-what, batteries, pens that don't work - we all have one. About 3 months ago I bought little wooden orgnizer boxes in a kit with a bunch of sizes. And while the junk drawer is till filled with, well junk. It is organized junk. And I can actually find that postage stamp or business card from the tree guy. This article might be relevant, it might not, but learning something new is always fun. So I hope you enjoy.

The Rice Recipes? I have done the Chicken Stir Fry (I like chicken thighs better) and in the Crunchy Rice Salad I used canned chopped beets (cheated just a little-or a time-saving hack in the new vernacular), and added shredded chicken for protein. Both were really good, and definitely able to be adapted to your taste. I also always use brown rice cooked in chicken stock. My Mom raised us with the statement of food value, and "white rice, honey, has no food value". You could also use quinoa. And if you used multi-colored quinoa, it would amp up the protein and the "eat with your eyes first" factor. Bon Appetit!

Have a terrific September, keep an eye on the sky, and please remember that every day you can open your eyes is a gift! Anne
