Redefining Title IX Student Summit

The Title IX summit is hosted annually by Rowan University students who are dedicated to bringing the student experience to the forefront with respect to Title IX concerns. Join students who want to make an impact and stand for equal rights in educational environment free of sexual assault, harassment, and discrimination. 

Health, & Fitness Internship and Career Fair
Friday, March 5
1-4 p.m., virtual format

Rowan University's student chapter of the National Wellness Institute invites you to participate in our annual Health, Wellness & Fitness Internship and Career Fair. This event is open to all students of all levels who are interested in internships, volunteer opportunities, and paid jobs. Graduating seniors are particularly encouraged to attend.

Students must RSVP to participate in this event:
  1. Log into ProfsJobs at www.rowan.edu/profsjobs 
  2. Click on Events on the left tab section and then click Career Fairs
  3. Click “2021 Virtual Health, Wellness & Fitness Internship and Career Fair”
  4. Hit “Attend” if you have not already. Update your chat profile. 
  5. Upload your resume by clicking the documents tab and uploading your resume to the site. You do not need an approved resume to participate in this event. 
New England SACNAS Regional Meeting
Open to undergrads and graduate students! The 2021 New England SACNAS Regional Meeting will be held virtually on Friday, March 19 (evening) and Saturday, March 20 (all day). There is no fee to attend the meeting, but attendees must register in advance. Register here by February 27.

SACNAS is an organization dedicated to the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM.

United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) Training Event
Sustainable Development Goals Training 
March 6-7 
FREE for all Rowan students.
Relevant to all majors. 

CHSS and the Rohrer College of Business Center for Responsible Leadership are cosponsoring a training on the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. This training is FREE to all students (undergraduate, graduate, and medical).

Internships & Opportunities
CSM Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)
SURP is designed for undergraduate students to gain valuable, hands-on research experience and develop critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. Research experiences will be a mix of on campus and virtual programming depending on the project and the status of COVID restrictions this summer.

Depending on the research project, programs are either 5 or 10 weeks. Stipends for students are nominally $1,875 for 5 weeks and $3750 for 10 weeks.

We encourage undergraduate students of all experience and academic levels to participate. Start by completing this brief form indicating your interests: SURP Form. The deadline to complete the form is March 19.

Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
Lockheed Martin's STEM Scholarship awards $10,000 to 200 undergraduates at a 4-year college or university. Students studying computer science, physics, or mathematics are eligible to apply. *Note, website does not specifically list math majors can apply, but Lockheed has confirmed math majors are eligible. Apply here. Deadline to apply is April 1.

SGA Scholarships for Spring 2021!
SGA will be awarding $35,000 in scholarships this semester in the amounts of $1000 (20), $2500 (4), and $5000 (1). The application is now open and will close on March 14.

JEDI Awards
The Life Sciences Editor Foundation is offering Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) awards to provide free scientific or language edits of a scientific manuscript or grant proposal from one of our volunteers (journal editor, technical writer, or researcher). In 2021, they will give 55 JEDI awards to students, postdocs and principal investigators who have a completed draft of a manuscript or grant proposal ready for editing. Manuscript-submission applicants must be first or corresponding author.
