Today's Prayer
Father, on this day, help us be worthy of your blessings. Help us see your light, follow your light, and reflect that light in our thoughts, words, and actions. Help us to be vessels for you. Amen. (by Steve Rogers)
You can turn hunger into HOPE
Too many of our neighbors don't have enough to eat. Together, we can make a difference.
Please donate to our Food Drive for FeedMore. Bring non-perishable food items to the Milling Area or the Garage Building through November 27. See a shopping list of "most needed" items at the bottom of this email.
Training this Sunday for new and returning Chalice-Bearers
Helping to administer Communion on Sunday mornings is a special way to engage with our church family. These “Lay Eucharistic Ministers” – or LEMs -- assist in the central act of the Christian liturgy. If you are interested in serving as an LEM at CCE, consider attending a brief training at 10 AM on Sunday, November 20. Your efforts will honor God’s sacrificial love and offer you an opportunity to connect with others in a sacred way. Questions? Contact Michael Compton.
Let every heart prepare! Advent begins Nov. 27

Art in Advent Class
Sundays, Nov. 27, Dec. 4. Dec. 11 at 10 AM in the Parlor
Gather with Rev. Neal to explore "Advent in Art." Each week, several pieces of art in various mediums will stimulate our imaginations and provide a forum for faith-filled conversation as we prepare for the coming of Emmanuel, God-with-us, at Christmas.

Advent Quiet Day
Saturday, Dec. 10
Gather at the beautiful Roslyn Retreat Center with Sara Vale as she leads us through meditations on finding quiet to hear the voice of God through the noise of the holiday season. This is a day to quiet your heart to prepare to receive the coming of Christ at Christmas. Details and registration
Rector Search Committee Update
The Rector Search Committee met with the "HolyCow" consultants to review the data from the congregational assessment. They are currently making preparations to share the results and accept any questions and feedback you may have. Stay tuned for these details and please continue to pray for our church and reach out to the committee if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!

Parents and grandparents: would your children like a speaking role in our Children's Christmas Pageant?
Our amazing music ministry will be working with our parish to present a simple, fun Christmas Pageant in worship at 9 AM on Sunday, Dec. 19. All children and teens are invited to participate! There will be plenty of non-speaking "walk-on" roles for kids of all ages who just need to show up a bit early on pageant day (more details on that later).

For now: a limited number of speaking roles are available for children and teens with this particular interest/gift. If your child/children would like a speaking role, please send their name, age, and grade by Nov. 21 to Keith.

Your generosity is amazing! Thank you for supporting Christ Church during our annual appeal

By estimating the financial support you're able to give in 2023, you are helping our congregational leadership plan life-changing ministries in Jesus’ name. So far we've received commitments from 118 households totaling $630,773. Thank you!

If you haven't yet, please help us be faithful stewards in our budgeting process by completing an online commitment card or submitting a paper card. Use the commitment card you received in the mail, get one at church, or print one here and bring it to worship or mail it to Christ Church Episcopal, 5000 Pouncey Tract Rd., Glen Allen, VA 23059. Thank you for your generosity!
A Prayer for our Transition
God of change and transition, we ask for your blessing as we move toward the call for a new rector. Help us stay faithful and steadfast during this time of change – committing ourselves to prayer, Bible study, and regular attendance in worship. Please enable the discernment committee to offer its best God-given gifts of wisdom, compassion, compromise, and deep faith as we discern the best choice to lead our church. We thank you, Lord, for blessing this work in your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
