Powerful TESTIMONIAL
Eight years ago – after giving birth to my first daughter, while living in Memphis, TN – I began having what I considered “hip” pain. It became a chronic issue with shooting pains down my leg and a constant ache that bothered me both when sitting or moving and interrupted my sleep. Not knowing what to do, I started with an orthopedist. They ordered multiple cortisone shots, an MRI and a final diagnosis that one leg was longer than the other and a recommendation that I put a wedge in the shoe of the shorter leg (which of course made things worse.) Ultimately, about 5 years ago, my mother urged me to see Diana. After one session she was able to unlock my hip joints and help stretch and loosen up the muscles and fascia in the affected areas, engage what had been shut down, and most importantly she taught me a daily, short stretching and rolling routine which keeps me aligned and pain-free. Now, years later and living in Washington, DC, I still travel back to see Diana every year or so – most recently in September to ensure my body was ready for a 15-hour flight to Japan. I have never met another practitioner like Diana who knows the body so well and could help not only eliminate my chronic pain, but could also teach me how to maintain the results and keep the pain at bay. I highly recommend Diana Spiess and the Essence Mind & Body Studio.

We are the beacon for the frequencies we desire in our lives.
What we radiate, we attract.
We have all most likely heard these:
Do unto others as you would have done unto you.
With each force, there is an equal, opposite force.
What you put out into the world comes back 2-fold.
The law of attraction = we attract what we radiate.
….and many more like these that say basically the same thing.
What is often missed is that being a certain way to others doesn’t mean that the return energy will come right from those we give to. It comes in many ways and forms and sometimes not immediately.
Gratitude is truly one of the highest frequencies that exist. And, this month we bring our attention to being thankful and grateful. What a powerful opportunity to resonate with others on these frequencies. We have all had times that what we desire is not what we are feeling. It can be hard to conceptualize that if we desire joy, peace, well-being, or happiness that we have to first feel it to attract it. Confusing…right? Not really. When we do things that bring such feelings, we then go into the other areas of our lives feeling a certain way and that only amplifies more to come. If I desire more joy, I go out in nature with my cameras and take picture whish leaves me feeling joyful and then go into other areas of my life feeling this way. I notice, very quickly, that others around me act differently and respond differently to me. I get to choose the energy and by following and living my heart’s desires (like photography), I manifest it into more volume.
I wish for you that this month brings time and space for what brings you the high frequencies you desire. And, as you travel on your journey, you witness all that this way of being brings into your life.
I am so very grateful for you all and for the wonderful family that essence is. I wish you all the love, peace, joy, and gratitude this holiday season and going in to the new year ahead.

Vast Healing
A practice and workshop created exclusively by Diana Spiess, M.S., Licensed Sound Therapist, CVSMT + Phase 3
Diana presented this new workshop that is a practice of her own design internationally to many practitioners of sound therapy and healing in August. It was very well received and appreciated and she is now ready to now present it as a practice for those who would like to explore and use frequencies beyond our human body. We, as a being, are not at all just living "in our body". Science fully recognizes the frequencies we emit far from the border of our skin and how they effect all around us. And, the same in reverse. Frequencies from even what we consider far away effect our well-being. Come explore all that this entails and learn techniques to heal and support our subtle anatomy being completely.
Date: Sunday, November 12th
Time: 12-3pm
Cost: $30 per person

Diana has offered this course for several years and many have done it more than once. Each year she adds in much more information; this year she will add in much about her newest healing method that includes chakras beyond those typically discussed and addressed. What will be covered:
- The 7 main chakras and our health and well-being
- Multiple chakras beyond the 7 main ones
- The main concepts of Taoism and how they can be used in daily life
- Ways to balance these areas of our being using yoga, crystals, essential oils, sound/frequency, chromotherapy, and more.

Definition of Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups.

Diana has been working toward this for over 8 years! and here it is!
This course is for those who have completed a 200hr Yoga Teacher Program and aspire to become a Certified Yoga Therapist. Diana has been a certified yoga therapist for almost a decade and the school is now an I-AYT member school. This course will begin in January 2024 and is a 2-year program minimum. The course is open to 8 students and 4 spots are filled already.

Healthy Recipes for Holiday Feasts | |

Diana’s Special GF/DF Crockpot Stuffing!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup vegan butter (I use Miyokos)
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2 (8 oz.) cans sliced mushrooms, drained
- 12 cups day old bread cubes, dried overnight (about 1 pound of gluten-free bread) or bake cubes at 20 degrees until dry…only very lightly browned
- 1 teaspoon gluten-free poultry seasoning
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 1/2 cups gluten-free, Egan vegetable broth (I use Halo’s “No-Chicken” broth which also has no tomatoes for those who need/want low lectins)
- 2 “flax eggs” (1 tablespoon finely ground flax seed and 3 tablespoons water whipped together with a fork and sat aside for 15-20 minutes) * not necessary to add if flax is not something you can have
Preparation:
- To dry gluten-free bread, let cubed bread stand, uncovered overnight on a wire rack, or bake in a 200 degree F oven for about 20 minutes, until dry but not browned.
- Melt vegan butter over low heat in a large skillet. Add onions, celery, parsley, and mushrooms. Saute for about 3 minutes while stirring to prevent burning.
- Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Add vegetable mixture and seasonings to bread and toss well. Pour in about 1/4 cup broth at a time, gently stirring to moisten bread cubes. Continue to add gradually add broth until ingredients are moist. (Avoid over-moistening to prevent “soggy” dressing.)
- Add flax “eggs” and stir with a large spatula to thoroughly blend. Spoon dressing into a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours. Check dressing periodically and drizzle with more gluten-free broth if the dressing appears to be drying out.
