November 2020
Shalom friends
We've re-set our clocks - and our expectations - for the next few months. Despite the shorter days and limitations on our social gatherings, we have much to be grateful for and to look forward to - Chanukah is a few weeks away and 2020 will soon be behind us.
Remember:
  1. PJ Our Way families should pleasechoose your books before November 10th.
  2. If your child is 8 1/2 - 12 please register for PJ Our Way (pjourway.org). Registration is not automatic.
  3. Register your parents for PJ Grandparents so they can also join in the fun.
  4. Please let me know if you have moved, added to your family, or if you know of a new family we should welcome.
Stay safe!

Help your kids learn how to get along and keep peace in the house (the Jewish value of shalom bayit) with this Daniel Tiger-esque video from Shaboom.

Get your veggies in with this simple, easy-to-prepare rice dish inspired by an episode of the PJ Library podcast.

Teach the Jewish value of gratitude, or hakarat hatov, to children through these seven creative ways.
This month, Tori makes a new friend and gets caught up in a lie trying to impress her, while Benny signs up for the talent show with his klezmer band – which doesn’t actually exist. Half-Indian and half-Jewish Sonia becomes half a cheerleader (?!) at her new school, and Rabbi Harvey is back to save Elk Spring, Colorado, from another bunch of bad guys. Curl up with any of these awesome titles this month – remember to choose a book by the 10th!

PJ Our Way is looking for voracious readers who want to share their opinions about new books. The Advisory Committee's feedback is used to help make decisions about which books to offer each month! All kids who get PJ Our Way books are eligible to apply -- email designteam@pjourway.org for more information.
