Have you been wondering what all the buzz is about in the beauty industry around microblading? What is it, who can benefit from it, how do you maintain it, and of course...how long does it last? Well let us give you some answers.
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique for eyebrows in which a small handheld tool is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Microblading is used on the brows to create, enhance, or redefine their appearance in terms of both shape and color. This technique is ideal for people with sparse or thinning brows, people who have very fair colored brows, those looking to create a more dramatic or polished look, and those looking to ditch the pencils and wake-up with the perfect arch every morning!
Your initial microblading experience is generally comprised of three appointments. First you will meet with your microblading technician for your initial consult. This will provide time for you and your technician to go over the process, answer questions, and draw a temporary template of the prospective brow to give you an idea of the outcome. Your second appointment will consist of the actual microblading service where the brows are created using semi-permanent pigment. Approximately four to eight weeks later you will return for your touch-up. This is a time for your technician to evaluate your healed brows and fill in any areas that may need a little touch-up.
The effects of microblading last anywhere between 18 and 30 months. Touch-ups can be necessary every six months to a year to maintain your desired look, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and preferred look.
