Hello Friends!
October is here and that means Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) -- a time when we increase our focus on raising awareness, remembering loved ones, and supporting those on their healing journey. We have a lot going on so we'll get right to it...
In-person Walk/Run/Yoga Kick Off Event
Our small group kick off for our fundraising period and BCAM took place Saturday, September 25. We're grateful for our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees!
Our always amazing emcee, Heather Holmes of KTVU FOX 2 kept things moving while Adaptive PE Instructor (FUSD) Nick Faulds guided us through a dynamic stretch followed by Shameem Z. of Xtrim Bollywood leading us through a super fun dance warmup.
We're grateful to breakfast sponsor Dutra Enterprises and to State Farm agent Renee Huber, CVS, Melody P., Accusplit, Fremont Botanicals, and our many in-kind sponsors who made our goody bags so special!
Virtual Walk/Run/Yoga Participants
Commemorative bibs and white paper doves have been mailed registrants for our virtual walk or run. We'll post random prize announcements to social media each week and winners will be notified by mail and phone. We'd love to see your #BCAM photos so post and tag us on Facebook or Instagram!
If you participated in our September 25 yoga session with Sherri Plaza, thank you! There are two more scheduled yoga sessions: HERS Board member and yoga instructor Anjali Rao on October 16 or Amy Hardwick on October 23. Both sessions will take place via Zoom at 11 am PST; you'll receive the Zoom link via a confirmation email once you register.
Remember: we've extended the participation period through October 31.
Since we're virtual this year, you may complete your 5k walk, 5k run or 10k run any time, any where plus you'll be automatically entered to win prizes. As always, your support will provide post-surgical products and services to patients in need.
