PAMED Advocates for Fairness in Medical Malpractice Venue Selection

This week, PAMED leaders Lorraine Rosamilia, MD (Vice Chair), Ashley Wilkerson, MD (Trustee), and Mark Lopatin, MD (former Trustee) testified before the Pennsylvania Senate State Government Committee in support of Senate Bill 125.

Introduced by Senator Cris Dush of Cameron County, SB 125 is a joint resolution aimed at amending the Pennsylvania Constitution to grant the General Assembly authority over venue legislation in medical malpractice cases.

This proposed amendment seeks to restore fairness and common sense to venue selection by ensuring that cases are tried in the county where the alleged malpractice occurred.

PAMED supports SB 125 and remains committed to working with lawmakers to uphold justice and integrity in Pennsylvania’s medical legal system. Thank you to our physician leaders for standing up for fairness and advocating on behalf of Pennsylvania’s medical community!
