Get Ready – Dayforce & Open Enrollment are on the way!
People, Pets & Vets will be moving from ADP to Dayforce. As a continued effort to improve your overall employee experience, PPV is investing in technology that will combine and simplify processes to make accessing your payroll and benefits information easier! Eligible employees will log into Dayforce to elect VetCor benefits during Open Enrollment Nov 14 – 26th!

What is Dayforce’s Self-Service platform?
A Self-Service platform is an application that allows you to have more access to your personnel information. In Dayforce, you’ll be able to:
  • Access in one single platform all your personnel information, including benefits, payroll, HR, and work schedule
  • Have 24/7 access regardless of where you are! Dayforce is available to you while you’re in the hospital, at home, and even on your mobile device through the Dayforce app
  • Use self-service resources to change your personal information
  • View your earning statements and year-end documents
  • Enroll in benefits during Open Enrollment or due to a Qualifying Life Event
  • Clock in and out via your mobile device

How do I get started in Dayforce?
Please keep an eye out for information via email about registration in Dayforce. Each employee will need to register in Dayforce before Open Enrollment starts. Dayforce provides self-service training during setup. Hospital leaders will receive an invitation to optional live demonstrations in the coming weeks to help support your team (see times below). Additional details will be coming soon.
  • 11/7 - 4pm EST
  • 11/11 - 12pm EST
  • 11/11 - 3pm EST

Open Enrollment is 11/14/22 – 11/25/2022!
Open Enrollment will be completed in Dayforce for the 2023 year. All PPV team members will need to complete the registration process in Dayforce prior to being able to enroll for benefits. More information on the VetCor benefits plans will be available after November 1st. Benefit guides will also be available in Dayforce!
FMLA Process Update
Effective January 1, 2023, we will be updating our FMLA process and implementing what is known as a "rolling 12-month lookback period". FMLA provides eligible Team Members with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected time off per 12 months. That sounds simple enough, but there are a few ways to define a 12-month period.

Some companies count the FMLA used in the 12-month timeframe of Jan-Dec each calendar year (which is our current process), and others simply look back at the FMLA usage over the prior 12 months, aka: a “rolling lookback period”. This is what we will be adopting in 2023!

For example: an FMLA-eligible team member requests three weeks of FMLA beginning on July 31st. We would look to see how much FMLA they had used in the 12 months prior (August 1st of the previous year to the present). If they had not taken any FMLA leave in that 12-month timeframe, they would be entitled to all 12 weeks of unpaid time off and approved for their 3-week request. The remaining 9 weeks of FMLA could be used over the course of the following 12 months. If no more FMLA was taken, the full balance of 12 weeks would be restored on August 1st of the following year.

Penny Paws mobile vaccine clinic has partnered with Albertsons to introduce time and money-saving solutions for pet parents struggling to afford the cost of medications and veterinary services.

The company is exploring additional sites for the Penny Paws mobile vaccine clinic including its Randalls supermarket locations in Austin and Houston."

The press release quotes Dr. Rob Franklin, saying, “Our staff of licensed veterinarians is dedicated to helping pets live a long and healthy life, which is why our community outreach program is so important in protecting canines and felines against devastating and life-threatening diseases. Offering convenient vet appointments in the parking lots of their neighborhood grocers makes this partnership a win-win for pet parents and their fur babies.”
