North Coast Small Business Pandemic Update
Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
New PPP Loan Applications Due 8/8/2020
Contact your bank or use SBA's Lender Match tool.
Forgiveness Applications Opens 8/10/2020
Contact your PPP lender for their loan forgiveness procedures and timeline. There's no rush at the moment.

  • You have ten months after the end of your loan's "covered period" to submit a request for forgiveness.
  • Reminder: "covered period" starts on the day your PPP loan was disbursed, and is either the original 8 week or the new 24 week timeline. If you don't know which applies to you ask your lender or review your loan origination documents asap.
  • If the loan is fully forgiven, the borrower is not responsible for any payments.
New Small Business $ Legislation
We're all keeping an eye on the "Continuing Small Business Recovery and Paycheck Protection Program Act" in debate before Congress. Highlights:
  • Employers might be able to apply for a second forgivable PPP loan.
  • PPP loans of $150,000 could be forgiven with one-page EZ form and no additional documentation.
  • The SBA 7(a) small business loan guarantee program might be expanded to include a long-term recovery low-cost loan program focused on low-income communities, minority-owned, and seasonal businesses.
