about Blessed Carlo

Blessed Carlo was an artist, cartoonist, and avid computer enthusiast. He created the art for the Eucharistic Miracles panels before his death from leukemia at age 15. His goal during his short life was to help bring others closer to Jesus through awareness of the mystery of the Eucharist. Carlo received the sacrament of the Eucharist daily and desired to share the joy of Christ's presence with the world through his God-given talents. He is the first millennial to be declared Blessed.

A Day of Reflection

FILCOPA (Filipino Council for Pastoral Affairs), in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Seattle Multicultural Ministries, invites all to a Day of Reflection on Mary and The Gospel with Bishop Frank Schuster, Auxiliary Bishop of Seattle.

One of the most iconic symbols of the Filipino Christmas spirit is the Parol, a star-shaped lantern expressing shared faith and hope. It symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and goodwill during Christmas. It is also known as a representation of the star of Bethlehem that guided the Three Wise Men to the manger of baby Jesus.

A $10 donation to help cover the cost of the materials is suggested, and everyone is encouraged to bring a dish to share for Salo-Salo.

The 6th annual Make the Connection Breakfast is a fundraiser in support of St. Leo Food Connection Emergency Food Programs.

Respect life Month

In October, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday. The USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities provides materials to help Catholics understand and value the gift of human life and help build a culture that cherishes and protects it.

40 Days for Life

The visible, public centerpiece of 40 Days for Life is a focused, 40-day prayer vigil outside an abortion facility in the community. It is a peaceful and educational presence. Those called to stand witness send a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion.

Parishioner Assistance Still Needed — Pushpay Deadline Approaching

Thank you for your consistent giving to our parish. We are grateful for your continued generosity and are excited to announce a new way to give. We value our parish community and want to ensure everyone knows about our new giving platform.

We are moving away from Our Sunday Visitor (OSV) Online Giving and EFT services. We have chosen to contract with Pushpay. We strive to be good stewards of your financial gifts and believe the significantly lower processing fees offered through Pushpay will allow your gift of treasure to support our parishes' mission further. As always, security is a top priority. 

We aim to complete this transition process to Pushpay by November 1, so we need your help moving your current OSV Online Giving and EFT gifts.

World Mission Sunday Special Collection

Next weekend we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to support mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe, where priests, religious and lay leaders serve the world’s most vulnerable communities.

In his message for World Mission Sunday 2023, Pope Francis reflects on the theme “Hearts on fire, feet on the move," based on the story of the disciples who encounter Jesus on their way to Emmaus (cf. Lk 24:13-35).

Please keep the Pope’s missions in your prayers and be generous in next week’s collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.

Holy Bible 

In the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium, the children will begin their year with a celebration of the Enthronement of the Bible. In this celebration, the children come to know the Holy Bible as God's Word and, therefore, the most precious book in the world. This celebration with the children develops a love and veneration for the Bible.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

CGS is an approach to faith formation where children 3-12 years old are formed in the Catholic faith in a sacred space called the 'atrium.

Current and new families can enroll for sessions starting in October 2023 and running through May 2024.

Catechists will host Social Hour in the Church Hall at Saint Patrick Catholic Church after the 9:00 am Mass on Sunday, October 8 – stop by and meet other families.

Baptism

Congratulations to brother and sister Benjamin and Luna, who were baptized with Deacon Steve Cano at Saint Patrick Church on September 30.

These children were surrounded in love by their parents, Veronica Millan and Francisco Molinero, their big sister, Olivia, godparents, Edgar Molinero Dolores, Melina Carranza-Rodriguez and Maria Carmen Molinero Delores, grandparents, and many family and friends.

Covenant of Faith Ceremony

Children from the Saint Patrick and Holy Cross parishes gathered at Saint Patrick Church for the Covenant of Faith ceremony.

The children filled their holy water bottles for their prayer space at home. They also received a cross pendant after reading and signing their Covenant of Faith certificate. By signing this covenant, the children, their families, and the teaching team agree to pray daily, study the lessons in their book, and participate in weekly Mass.

Please pray for these children as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in November 2023 and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in April 2024.

Do you need a ride to Mass?

We have a few volunteers who have expressed interest in helping transport parishioners who cannot get to Mass independently. 

Those being transported must live within five miles of Saint Patrick Catholic Church.

Help provide new or gently used, freshly washed coats and pajamas in sizes 12 months to 5T for Pregnancy Aid.

Pregnancy Aid serves the well-being of families with children in and beyond the womb by providing material and emotional support.

Catholic in Recovery provides healing from addictions, compulsions, and unhealthy attachments.
