Dear Prayer Partners,

We just completed our 2nd day of camp ... wow, what another great day! The kids (and counselors) are finally getting into the rhythm of camp

Continue to pray for the kids as they start to develop strong bonds with their counselors and get more and more comfortable with the daily schedule.

Here's a cute story from our scribe at camp:

Rain, rain, rain!!! Everyone woke up this morning to the threat of RAIN. Everyone was able to get to breakfast before the skies broke open. The sky was dark and then the rain came down!!

At the end of breakfast everyone stayed in the dining hall anxiously awaiting the news of what they would be able to do this morning.

The boys were supposed to do Organized Games while the girls were supposed to participate in Activity Centers. Coach Cindy and Coach Steve come to the rescue telling the boys they would be able to go to the gym area and girls stay in dining hall for activities. It was great to see how the girls counselors came to the rescue with extra resources to keep all the girls busy.

Finally its Kids Club time where they sing, hear a lesson about Joseph with his colorful coat and watch a dramatization before going to lunch. Hip hooray the rain is beginning to go away!!!!

Later in the day I was visiting with first year Counselor Reed and he was sharing a little fun story with me. Last night while preparing to go to bed, he took time to pray individually with his two campers.  In his prayers he spoke to the Lord about each of his boys and asked that He take care of these boys. One of the boys then told Reed he was his “Best Friend!”

Comments like these can be so enlightening for both counselors and these young campers!!

Blessings,

Darren

p.s. Pray for the volunteers coming out on Wednesday to help with Everyone's Birthday Party. It's going to be a great day!
