A contact with the RATT taskforce in San Diego reached out to CPP this past Sunday (1.8.2023) for assistance when they discovered a CAT 232D skid steer at a suspicious location near the Mexican border.
CPP worked with our RATT contact to find markings that would help them locate the owner and discern if the asset was where it should be.
The skid was not showing as stolen.
The unit was on rent from CPP member American Rentals and had been stolen on December 31, 2022.
(The American Rentals customer was purposely delaying filing a stolen report for the asset.)
American Rentals reached out to us to thank CPP for the assist and confirm that their unit had successfully been recovered without incident.
